  1. I've got a weather resistant outlet box outside about 3 inches above the ground. Although the cover plate has a seal, the rust on the 5 year old standard switch makes me think moisture had gotten inside. I'd like to replace the old manual switch with a switchlinc. Do you think it will hold up against the moisture? Thanks.
  2. Hi Lee, Sorry, v6.9 was the hardware version on the KPL box. According to ISY, the KPL firmware version is v.41 so I'll delete it and add it back. I've got a couple of these so can I delete them and then restore the ISY from a backup? I'm guessing restore devices doesn't work? Thanks for the help debugging this issue.
  3. Hi Lee, In non-toggle Off mode the D button does not blink twice and is always on once pressed unless I press one of the other buttons. I just upgraded my ISY to v4.0.5 and it made no difference. The KPL version is v6.9.
  4. Hi Lee, Setting the D buttom to non-toggle off mode doesn't disable the led when activated. It may be because it is grouped with the other buttons. If I set the D button to toggle on/off and hit the button twice, the led goes off. This isn't an ideal work around but I guess is okay.
  5. Hi Lee, I defined the mutual exclusion through the scene and without button groupings. When doing so, each button allows you to control the other buttons' led levels, but not its own led level. Maybe the control could be enhanced to control all other buttons and its own led levels? Thanks.
  6. That is correct. The large On/Off work appropriately (e.g. On is lit when on; Off is no lit when lights are off). It is the small D button that I cannot turn the led off.
  7. I tried every combination of non-toggle/toggle modes and nothing seems to work. I guess I'm stuck with a back lite off?
  8. Hello, I have a 6 button KPL and it controls the fan beautifully. The on/off buttons control the light while the 4 smaller buttons control the fan speed (high, med, low, off). The fan speed is controlled by a scene (mutually exclusive buttons). All very standard. What I can't figure out is how to turn off the backlight for the fan off button. Any ideas?
  9. The control pad is Radionics. I believe this is the one: http://stna.resource.bosch.com/document ... 013643.pdf And the motion sensor is DS924. http://www.alarmhow.net/manuals/Radioni ... 0Guide.pdf I'll try to research it more tonight, but I'm not hopeful.
  10. Hello, I've got a bunch of wireless motion sensors associated with an older alarm. Is it possible to directly access the motion sensor triggers from the ISY or must I go through the alarm system? Unfortunately the motion sensor specs say nothing about its interface. Thanks.

    FanLinc

I'm running the latest official version (3.3.10). Should I move to 4.0.3?

    FanLinc

Hello, I installed a FanLinc and connected it to various scenes of a 6 button KPL. What's odd is that the web page (WEB/INDEX.HTM#/nodes/devices/) "My Devices" always highlights the FanLight as On (green circle). If I select Off (red circle), the light turns off, but the green On circle in the web page is still highlighted. However, the admin console correctly reports the fan light's on/off values. Any idea what's going on? Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the information. I'll make sure I pick the switchlinc specifically for the application.
  14. Hi, If I understand the switchlinc dual band dimmmer correctly, it can be programmed for fast on/off. Given this feature, why would anyone ever buy a switchlinc on/off? The dimmer version gives more flexibility for future lighting changes. Thanks.
  15. LeeG. You're right. I pulled the plate and the LED is controlled correctly, thus the brightness delta is strictly due to the button mass. Thanks.
  16. I'm running the last version of ISY v3.3.10 and just bought the KPL (Relay v.41) v6.9. Upon further inspection, it does seem that max to min LED brightness every so slightly affects the KPL. A level of 0 does not completely turn it off and the 4 scene button are always much brighter than the top/bottom on/off buttons. Is that normal or is my KPL defective?
  17. Using my ISY, I setup my 6 button keypadlinc to control my fanlinc. The top/bottom buttons control the lights while the 4 scene buttons (A-D) control the fan (low, med, high, off). But, the ISY's "LED Brightness" control has no affect on the keypadlinc buttons' brightness. This seems so basic that I must be missing something. Also, has anyone notice a soft hum coming from the keypadlinc? The hum is louder when switched on than off. Thanks!
  18. Hi, I'd like to setup various temperature monitors through out the house that can link to the ISY and possibly trigger events. What type of temperature monitor would you recommend? Thanks.
  19. I'm a newbie trying to figure out the best programming method for my Insteon Thermostat 2441TH. What ever I do, it has to be wife friendly which means she can walk over to the thermostat and override the default settings. I see 2 basic options. 1) Program it stand alone and override it occasionally with the ISY. 2) Program it entirely through the ISY. In regards to #1, what's the point of have an ISY if you don't use it. In regards to #2, I'm hesitant I can write a robust program that accounts for random wife/kid button pushing. How do you do it? Any suggestions are appreciated.
  20. I'm also a newbie and am creating the same scene, but implemented it with 2 separate programs. SunsetOn If sunset+30 then porchlight on SunriseOff If sunrise - 30 then porchlight off Is there a benefit to this coding style (e.g. less "off" commands over the network) over the single program If sunset+30 to sunrise -30 then porchlight on else porchlight off Thanks.
