  1. Polisy with 2448A7 works so far. Caveat - only one test insteon device (outdoor switch dongle) linked so far. But it works at over 100 feet. And in parallel, with no discernible conflicts with my existing, separate isy 994 with serial plm and multiple insteon devices.
  2. RF interference be damned. I have both a Zooz z wave dongle and an insteon 2448A7 usb stick jammed into my Polisy. Neither feels warm to the touch. dmesg shows them both.

  4. Thread Hijack: Pet peeve: URL to product without product name or description While poster is no doubt, trying to be helpful, there are inherent problems. A year from now, someone may have the same problem - click on the link and get 404. Useful information has been lost. What was it? What solved the problem? Product name and/or description is helpful Rant: URL for un-named product in post above lead to Amazon CANADA (USA's northern friend) site. I unfortunately used my phone to view, and was prompted to set my amazon app to Canada. Hours later, it took me more than five minutes of searching in the app, to reset to my home USA for search results. My OCD is showing

  8. Email/SMTP now working (after upgrading to latest version) Thank you
  9. Additional information. Updated to 5.0.4.x (updated via ssh but admin console only shows 5.0.4 with no further decimal version information) SMTP Test error message now also says "Could not open config file to read [./FILES/CONFI/UXT.BIN]
  10. Hi, I use and enjoy my ISY every day. Can't seem to get emails from ISY on Polisy to work. v 5.0.4 Configuration tab, Emails/Notifications Settings/Group - tried to use/copy settings that work on my ISY 994i add to Groups Default/Name Recipients (regular email) myname@gmail.com and save SMTP settings - use default and save Test - Mail server failure SMTP_ERRORS -- 1 (the above settings work with my ISY 994i) Tried it twice - of note after SMTP failure message myname@gmail.com is erased from Recipients and Default has blank Recipients. Tried multiple times to make sure I had saved settings. No email ever sent/received SMTP error --1 recipients list cleared/erased after SMTP test no matter how many saves of SMTP settings or Groups saves Setting shown/used above are the same as working settings on my ISY 994i on same network/internet connection. Suggestions?
  11. Hi, I use and enjoy my ISY everyday. FYI - In theory ... You can purchase on the isy portal https://my.isy.io/index.htm Then go to AC for ISY in polisy and select config tab, then portal tab, click the auth. Then ISY will re-boot and the selected ISY will show green in the portal. Looks like its working for most. However, some users, me included have experienced a few bugs. Registration on Portal seems stuck. Michel/Universal Devices, seems to be aware and working on it. [admin@polisy ~]$ sudo service isy restart Stopping isy. 15 1 0xffffffff81d63000 8320 uftdi.ko uftdi.ko is already loaded Starting isy. [admin@polisy ~]$ Admin console opens great on lan and cloud. But I have lost the portal tab. Gui and ISY both report v5.0.3
  12. ISY on Polisy Version Naming Since ISY 99x and Polisy/ISY are now on series 5.x. There might be confusion as to which is which software version. How bout a "P" prefix or "P" suffix for Polisy/ISY versions P5.x or 5.xP for Polisy/ISY?
  13. Hi, I use and enjoy my ISY every day. Can't get my ISY/Polisy to fully register on Portal. Portal shows yellow light on ISY/Polisy UUID and complains about Access denied Pending approval by owner. I have ISY 994i/IR PRO 5.3.3 (Admin/Console/Help/About) and ISY/Polisy 5.0.2 (Admin/Console/Help/About) running on the same local network/Internet/firewall connection. my.isy.io shows ISY 994i/IR PRO 5.3.3 version 5.3.3 and is attached/green with info popup, online since current date/time (refreshable) in the portal. ISY/Polisy shows as VERSION 1.2.0 (NOT 5.0.2) and yellow and with info popup, online since current date/time (refreshable) BUT Pending approval by Owner. Tried going to ISY/Polisy "Portal Tab" to give permission - tab does not exist (another user reported same missing Portal tab). ISY 994i/IR PRO has portal tab showing registered online. I can't seem to find where to grant permission to register my ISY/Polisy on portal. Some other observations/information. Originally tried to register ISY/Polisy when it was running V 1.2.0 - never had any more success Removed re-added ISY/Polisy UUID from portal with no improvement Using ISY Finder I am MUST use Admin Console (Cloud) to access ISY/Polisy, Admin Console (LAN) always hangs. Another user reported same hang on lan access. I MUST use https 8443 to access Polisy http 8080 FAILS with no connection. ISY/Polisy shows "location unknown" and both sunrise sunset 12:00 AM I reported now FIXED, prior issue with multiple ISY/Polisy DNS requests to my.isy.io Cold boot ISY/Polisy has not positive effect Suggestions?
  14. Thread Drift Redux. Add forum search capabilities to topics discussed in this thread. I think ISY makes good products with great support. I hope they can reduce my forum frustration. Maybe a new “social media” hire. Right after they buy/take over Smarthome.
  15. Thread Drift! PLM, Fixing PLMs, ISY alpha on Polisy, nodeservers etc Lots of useful information being buried/lost. Potential fix: New and better labels for forum sections POLISY Polisy Nodeserver (get rid of Geek Batch) ISY on Polisy
  16. I would like to vote for continued "network module" support in polisy. Don't want to depend on/be required to have node server to do some direct ip html command. Thanks
  17. Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. A suggestion - Polisy should be respectful of the network whether it is successful or not in connecting. Use a fallback mode, for example: Try to connect every second for 1 minute Try to connect every minute for 5 minutes Try to connect every 10 minutes for an hour Try to connect every hour for as long as polisy is booted. After 1 hour - send an email alert to the administrator that connection is unsuccesfull.
  18. I use and enjoy my ISY every day. However, polisy is acting rudely on my network. Thousands of DNS queries to my.isy.io, proxy.isy.io, proxy2.isy.io. Yesterday ran pkg update upgrade. Today my pihole reports 51K queries to my.isy.io from my polisy box. seems like every 2 seconds 2021-07-06 17:55:40 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:37 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:36 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.1ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:35 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:33 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:32 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.3ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:30 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.3ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:28 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:21 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) 2021-07-06 17:55:21 A my.isy.io 192.168.1.194 OK (cached) IP (0.2ms) Cold rebooted polisy. GEO Fence

Hi, Uninstalled UD Mobile on Pixel 4a. Reinstalled UD Mobile on Pixel 4a. All seems good. No worries

    GEO Fence

Hi, I use and enjoy ISY every day; think forum and tech support are best in class. But - Geofencing is frustrating me. Can't get it to work, broke my UDImobile sync and don't understand "architecture/framework" to fix it. Running ISY 5.3.3 and UD Mobile 0.63 on Pixel 4a. UDI Mobile was working well for weeks, connected through portal and syncing/controlling devices remote and local. Good. Thought - let's try Geofencing. Looked at wiki instructions https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Node_Server_Occupancy_V2_%26_UDI_Mobile_app_Instructions Last updated - This page was last modified on 27 August 2018, at 23:51. This seems like a recipe/list - but did not help me understand what was happening in the background (architecture). Tried to add geofence, kept getting error that plugin had not been installed? No mention on instruction page that magic plugin needed to be installed first. OK - installed plugin. Added geofence - Home. Added device - Pixel4a. HAH now have TWO Geofence locations listed 1) Home (no key) 2) Home/Pixel4a with two long string key identifiers. OK lets move on. Time to link my Pixel4a - Reading instructions inside help of UDmobile - In order to configure "UDI Mobile" in your mobile device, choose a "Mobile Device" in ISY Portal list and click on in "Linked" column. This will give you a 6-digit Pin that you have to enter the first time you open "UDI Mobile" in order to Link your mobile device with ISY Portal, then the app will obtain all geofences assigned for this mobile device and (if allowed) let you edit geofence data. From this point, the app will report to ISY portal each time mobile device enters "o" (typo) leaves each geofence. I generate 6 digit pin on portal. Open UDI mobile on my Pixel4a; search and search for place to put pin. Close UDI mobile. Open UDI mobile. Look in settings, look under Dashboard Manage modules, Configuration Portals - Nowhere could I find a place to put in a six digit pin. Maybe I need to logout UDI Mobile from portal. Find logout from Portal and logout. Close UDI Mobile and reopen UDI Mobile BIG MISTAKE! Try to log back in - use my portal email and password. Get prompted to sync with portal BUT it wants me to name the ISY device. My ISY in the portal is named, "MyHome." I try MyHome but get told that "database error" and after a few more attempts I give the name MyHome2. Seems to connect and sync all devices and programs. Wait - wasn't the whole idea to get prompted for a 6 digit pin to enable geofence? Never asked for 6 digit pin. Worse - I now have TWO "locations" on home screen of "MyHome" and "MyHome2" - OK lets move along. No, I now receive repeated popup error messages - UD Subscription Status - MyHome ERROR: No Portal is linked to system System Name:... So: No geofence Two instances of my ISY device 1) MyHome 2)MyHome2 and MyHome seems unlinked and unhappy No clue as to what the overarching architecture/framework is to try understand to fix the situation I think that ISY is great, but this challenge in annoying me. Suggestions?

    Nice Apps

I use and enjoy my ISY devices every day. Thank you for the iOS and android apps. They are working great for me. One comment on my initial did-not-read-the-instructions setup: While I do have an active portal account, I first tried connecting via local fixed ip and also non-certified external domain name. Both failed with cryptic messages about java and ssl certs. When I switched to using my ISY portal, everything was smooth and fast. I did some cursory forum investigating and it seems like certs are required and java has its own issues. Bottom line - better warnings/error messages could have steered me to ISY portal settings first. I am more than happy to continue my portal subscription - point out how it helps me so I won't waste time with local/remote settings. Another though about "syncing" - Downloading ISY information was pretty fast but took around 45 seconds. Refreshing information took another 45 seconds. I use the now retired MobilincPro apps. They have a "sync all" and a "sync new/updated" mode. Sync all downloads everything from scratch, sync new just downloads updated ISY information and is really, really fast - 5 seconds. Hope ISY apps could have a sync updated mode for faster syncs. Again, great work on the apps. Thanks
  22. Polisy Polyglot still working OK No worries.
  23. I use and enjoy ISY everyday. Had to reboot polisy to hear the new tones. Before rebooting, I tried to update from the command line - some problems ensued.
