I'm have the same issue on 4.2.2 Below I have several logs and programs / status changes. The short version is as follows: 25.17.5C.1 CLIHCS Value = 0 (Not Calling for Anything) 25.17.5C.1 CLIHCS Value = 1 (Calling for Heat) 25.17.5C.1 CLIHCS Value = 2 (Calling for Cool) 25.17.5C.2 Cooling Controller 25.17.5C.3 Heating Controller Problem 1: Heating should change the status of node 3 and change the value of node 1 to 1. Heating ONLY changes the status of node 3 and does not change anything on node 1. Problem 2: When no heating / cooling is present, node 1 should change to a value of 0, right now it changes to 1. Note 3: Cooling appear to be functioning correctly. It changes the status of node 2, and the value of node 1 to 2. --------------------------------------------------------------- Please note I have several programs not filtered in code that changes the state of the Fan from Auto to On. Didn't think of that. I'll try it out. Ended up being too flaky to even get the program to work. After the filterlinc idea I'll likely swap the module out with a Z-Wave one.

Bleh; So next test, same as the old ones. This time changed my expectations. The SynchroLinc does not sync at all if it has a load (even off) plugged into it. I can get it to Sync with nothing connected to it with the AP in the same outlet. I then click on Options and change the values (On/Time/Hyst) to what I like and write it. I then plug in the load and have it run its cycle. The SynchroLinc gives On/Off messages as expected (still testing a full cycle). If I hit options, I get an error saying it can not communicate. So, assuming it can pass a couple full washer load tests, it may be a livable condition. I should add that a Query gives communication issues as well. It goes to a red ! after a query. But once the status changes from off/on on/off then it goes back to the blue switch.

Correct,ish. In a prior post I mentioned having a second SynchroLink. I moved that to the same location as the first to rule out a defective unit. 19.90.2C 19.8B.D3 Same location in the laundry, I unplugged the 2C and plugged in the D3 into the same outlet.

So I'm at a loss now. I think there may be an issue with the PLM or some serious back feed on my powerlines. I installed 2 toggle lincs in our master bedroom. ISY could not detect them. I then connected a fanlinc in the master bedroom. ISY picked up the fanlinc but still not the toggle lincs (and they are connected to the same wire...) I then cheated a bit. I deleted the fan linc. Then connected the toggle lincs to the fan just using device to device communication. Then I added the fan linc to the ISY and had the bottom option (keep and add existing lincs). ISY was then able to add the toggle lincs. In my halway, I could not get another toggle linc to connect. I took a plug in on/off module; linked it to the toggle linc; then added the on/off to isy with the bottom option selected. ISY added it without issue, and even with the on/off module unplugged the ISY can still communicate with the toggle linc. Any suggestions for troubleshooting? I opened the breakers going to some of my unfiltered loads. All my computers are on filterlincs. Is it the PLM?

19.8B.D3 Below is 2 traces. The PLM does not detect the device if anything is plugged into it. The first is where I attempted to link with something plugged into it. The second is the trace where it connected with nothing connected to it. In this configuration, an AP is connected into the same outlet as the device. The AP in the middle of the house blinks Red. The AP in the laundry room (front of house) blinks Green. The PLM is in the back of the house.

So still somewhat at a loss here. I picked up a second SynchroLink for another room. Tried linking them both in the other room and they work with a bunch of 1 and 0 hops left. I then added several devices to different places that I was not really needing, but I wanted to increase the robustness of the mesh network. After adding 1 more SychroLink, an EZFlora, 2 On/Off Outdoor Modules and an indoor On/Off module; I now get a bunch of 1 and 2 hops left in the new room. The washer room still refuses to be added. I've moved my AP/Repeaters around. I have 1 in the same outlet as the SychroLink in the washer room. The other is on the opposite circuit in an adjacent room. Still nothing. I may be confused on these AP/Repeaters. My understanding is that they are dual band and should convert between the two. Why, even in the same plug, does the powerline not work when it is surrounded by dual band devices?

Place KPL Button D into a Scene as a Responder and turn that scene off to make the LED light go out.

One of the keypads was still having slight issues getting the LEDs right after making your suggested change. I ended up doing a factory reset on the keypads and then used the ISY to restore the Insteon Device. After that I'm up and running. I'll have to think if these separate on values may have other uses.

LeeG; I appreciate all the help you've been dishing my way recently. I had no idea that the red items also had separate on levels from the scene load. I went through the scenes and hit Copy Scene Attributes from (Scene Name) and now it all works as expected. Thank you.

Hello; I am having some difficulty understanding why my keypad leds are not following the status correctly. I have 2 8 button keypads and a fanlinc. Both keypads are set up the same so that my wife and I can control the office fan / light and a closet light. The Office Light and Closet Light scenes work without issue. Both keypad buttons used will control and follow the lights. The Fan (High/Med/Low/Off) scenes work to control the fans, but when using the buttons the LED behavior does not follow the fan status. If Control 'Office - Closet (Closet) / Office - Closet- F (Fan Low)' is switched On Or Control 'Office - Light (Light) / Office - Light- F (Fan Low)' is switched On Then Wait 2 seconds Set Scene 'Office Fan - Low' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Any thoughts on what part I missed? The buttons work to turn the fan to the correct states; the scenes work to get the button LEDs to the correct states; but I don't know why the buttons are not also making the LEDs follow. I'll do some isolation testing on this. The PLM is located in our computer room. We have 2 power strips; one for each computer. Each powerstrip is already plugged into a FilterLinc.

Thank you for looking into that depth. I'm waiting until early next week for the next test. Due to plug orientation I can't plug 2 insteon devices into the same wall plate; so I have some 1 ft extenders coming. Is my understanding correct in that plugging the Access Point and the SynchroLink into the same wall plate should produce improved powerline communication? I'll also be using these cables to plug the PLM and the SynchroLink into the same wall plate for a similar test.

My next test was to move one of the APs to the same room / circuit as the SychroLink. I got both APs on opposite circuits as verified by the 4 tap test and linked them. For the SychroLink I tried getting it into linking mode both before the first double beep, after, and after doing the off / on calibration. Any other suggestions?

I spent the day moving around the two APs and still nothing. In the same room as the PLM it barely connects. I also have the EZ Flora that I believe is just powerline communication. I plugged it into the same spot (in both the PLM Room and Laundry Room) and it registered quickly without issue. Nevermind, completely broke again. Moved it to the washer location and could not get it to communicate. Moved it back in room and going through same process I can not get it to show up on ISY at all. I plugged in an outdoor module to the location in the washer room and linked it without an issue; so I am assuming it does not have to do with the robustness of my network. any suggestions?

So got some reading in on the forums and this I1 vs I2 post came up. I reattempted linking with the I1 Option Selected and Nothing, with the Device Message option and nothing. I then did a manual add with I1 Option, detected it with error message. I then did a manual add with Device Message option and it added it completely, but came up with a communication error. I then did a Query on it and the device Icon changed to the blue switch. I just wrote new watt values and it took. After moving it back to the Washer room it broke again, moving back to the computer room it is still not linking. An outdoor module links in the washer room without issue so I am assuming it is not network related. Removed Code for Readability

19.90.2C I am attempting to add a SynchroLink to my system. The device is detected by ISY but gives an Error saying it cannot communicate with it. I have tried moving the device into different locations, including on the same circuit as the PLM. I also have bridges installed on both lines. Any suggestions on where to go from here? I'm in a similar situation. We have a console humidifier (14 gpd unit) that uses those wicking filters. I've set up a float valve on it so that it is always full of water. After 2-3 months the filters get saturated enough with calcium deposits that they need to be changed; but we never pay attention because it always has water. Our solution is using the thermostat. The Insteon Thermostats have humidity sensors on them (I think the Z Wave does also) that is a variable you can access on ISY. I have a disabled program that just sends a notification after 24 hours. If Time is 11:55:00PM Then Wait 23 hours Send Notification to 'Admin' content 'Humidity Warning' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Then this program will enable / disable the program based on humidity: If Status 'Thermostat- Main' < 50% (Humidity) Then Enable Program 'Humidity Notify' Set Program 'Humidity Notify' To Run At Startup Else Disable Program 'Humidity Notify' Set Program 'Humidity Notify' To Not Run At Startup Some other things to note: You could get a humidity sensor (such as with the 1 wire bus) and use that instead. Also, if you are worried about the water getting low and you can't do a float like in mine, you may be able to hook up a leak sensor. Your program would trigger if a leak was not detected due to the water getting low and then you could fill it.

After the above, install the switches at a different location and run the same scenario and see if you get repeats.

As mentioned, I do run Arch now just because of the mining platform (I use MinePeon). Not sure about the crypto functions though.
