  1. I feel really bad for people who spend their hard earned money and precious time on this thing and its junk. At the same time I'm grateful for them posting on this forum to warn others. The thermostat was one of the things I was most excited about in getting an insteon system, but unfortunately I still don't have anything on my isy for hvac control yet. Here's to hoping the 2441th is redesigned soon with all of this overwhelming feedback about it. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  2. That happened to me once. Heartbeat showed up after pressing the test button a couple times after exiting the linking mode. My only issue with these things now is that I have really annoying error messages in the admin console saying all of my dry nodes are not responding after I do something such as check plm links. Doesn't go away until I go around to every single sensor and press the test button. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  3. So if I don't want the sensor on the floor, instead of using this one: http://www.smarthome.com/7455B/SECO-LARM-SM-226L-3-Magnetic-Garage-Door-Contact-Switch/p.aspx Either one of these should work, correct? http://www.smarthome.com/77370/SECO-LARM-Enforcer-SM-217Q-W-Miniature-Surface-Mount-Contact-Magnet/p.aspx or http://www.smarthome.com/77374GY/SECO-LARM-SM-216Q-GY-Wide-Gap-Magnetic-Contact-Gray/p.aspx Will probably go with the smaller one since it both looks better and is cheaper. Gap is 2" vs. 2 3/4" on the larger one, but that's still plenty.
  4. Well it appears that I somehow fixed my own problem. After pressing the button on both of the sensors again to wake them up and toggle the wet status on/off, then rebooting the ISY, I'm not getting the error message that there's no communication with the dry node of each sensor anymore. Weird.
  5. I just set up two insteon leak detectors on my ISY-994i. I verified they were both working correctly by placing them in water and removing them from the water. Leak Sensor-Dry and Leak Sensor-Wet respond accordingly. I also noticed that when pressing the button, the -dry and -wet switch states. If the sensor is dry, and you push the button, dry = off and wet = on, then after 10-15 seconds it returns to dry = on and wet = off. A while later, when I logged into my ISY, I got error messages saying "Cannot communicate with Leak Sensor-Dry (address). Please check connections." I understand that with these leak sensors they go into battery save mode and shut off RF, and only turn RF on when a state change is detected, so it kind of makes sense there would be no communication, but is there any way to avoid this error message every time I log into my ISY? Also, it seems strange that I only get this error message for the -dry node, not the -heartbeat or -wet. Thanks for any help.

  7. Is there much difference between the following scenarios? 1 - https://my.isy.address with port 443 forwarded to isy static ip and port 443 2 - https://my.isy.address:33443 with port 33443 forwarded to isy static ip and port 443 3 - Changing https secure port on isy to 33443 and using https://my.isy.address:33443 with port 33443 forwarded to isy static ip and port 33443 I've successfully acquired remote access with all the above options, just to learn how this stuff works, I just don't know enough about it to know which option is best or more secure? In my example above, I just used 33443 as an example, where anything from 2000 through 65535 would work. Thanks for any info. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  8. Looks like they're mostly the same price now as far as switches or receptacles go, with the plug in modules being cheaper in dimmer form. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
  9. Where have you found relay switches cheaper than dimmers? I always thought it was weird that a relay switch isn't cheaper than a dimmer, which kinda sucks since I have cfl's and can't use dimmers anywhere. I fact I've seen dimmers cheaper than the relays at times. Possibly due to volume/popularity? Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk
