Hi I am testing zooz Zen72 smart dimmer. This is designed to control scenes/devices via 2, 3, 4, 5, up/down presses. I have set zwave parameter #13 to 1 per... https://www.support.getzooz.com/kb/article/538-zen72-dimmer-switch-700-advanced-settings/#:~:text=Parameter 13%3A Enable or disable, for quick double tap triggers. However in eisy I do not see these are triggers in programs, not as possible controllers in scenes. eisy simply brings in the dimmer as a single device/node/entity Does isy not support this functionality? Thanks

Thanks. This is working for some programs but not for others. There is no apparent reason, all are simple working programs.
-
Ok, this is strange, some programs do copy via r-click->copy. But some dont???
-
Hi Sorry for my basic question but I have searched wiki and forum and can not remember how to copy/duplicate a program. I just want to duplicate an existing program so I can make some edits for testing. I see right-click -> copy but no paste and nothing happens when I just do copy. I am on latest firmware on an eisy after migrating from 994 Thanks

Can one Dim A Scene on Alexa (or Google) integration?
ccclapp replied to ccclapp's topic in Google Home
HI Thanks Darn,I was hoping to avoid this, as many scenes x many brightness levels = too many I regularly dim/brighten a given scene from a KP button and its not really time or event specific to automate. Thanks for the clarification -
Hi Quick question: Are scenes dimmable or can you specify the brightness level of scenes on the Amazon or Google assistant integrations Thanks

I just connected my 1st zigbee test device. Its a "Third Reality" "Smart Plug GEN2" www.3reality.com, bought on aamazon for about $10 (4pack for $38) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BPY5D1KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1 THIRDREALITY ZigBee Smart Plug 4 Pack with Real-time Energy Monitoring,15A Outlet, Zigbee Repeater,ETL Certified,ZigBee Hub Required,Work with Home Assistant,Compatible Echo Devices and SmartThings It was very quickly found/added to eisy. It has a single device field listed and functioning as an on/off switch. It is supposed to report poser/energy use, but does not on eisy. I have not tried it elsewhere. Thanks

Hi , apologize in advance if this is an obvious question I should know the answer to... but I don't I just received my eisy and the z matter stick (I was previously on an ISY). I had assumed they're already was zigbee broad support as I thought that's what that stick was for. am I mistaken and only just now we starting to get zigby support? a simple clarification would be helpful Thanks

Guys: It shouldn't be this difficult! Why cant we simply enter the ISY IP address in our browsers and log into the device interface, as we can with EVERY other network device. The comment was made above that these problems are rare. I don't think that's correct. More likely people are accustomed to a certain amount of head-banging to get set up or re-set up as this is a DYI device and users. We could start a poll on that question
-
HI All of this is the point I was trying to make in this thread (which has now been closed by UD)... Eventually we all solve the problems, but often after hours of knocking our heads against the wall. I really don't understand why UD hasn't provided a non-Java and otherwise standard and less problem-prone application for ISY. Thanks to those who replies with assistance on that thread. I cant reply there as it is been closed.

After So Many Years Still Cant Connect to ISY
ccclapp replied to ccclapp's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
Thahkns, but as described I used that and it doesnt find the ISY. I enter the IP and it says invalid address. I have no doubt its some simple issue, but after 2 hours of following the wiki, the cookbook, the forums etc still not in the admin UI. Just saying, the tools dont work as described and/or the documentation is lacking. -
I am returning to my ISY 994 after not using it for a while and the ISY Finder / admin.jnlp etc continue to drive me CRAZY!!! I installed 32 snf 64 bit versions of java Cleared the cache Launched ISY finder, which as always does not find my local isy which is on my current/correct subnet Launch admin.jnlp and get an error message as usual "Cannot launch Application" Use http://isy which yields site cannot be reached I browse to the ISY url and enter via HTTP and sign in. Then click admin and het the stupid "Keep this window Open" All of this is in conjunction with following the wiki and searching the forums for current solutions. WHY AFTER SO MANY YEARS CANT UD USE A STRAIGHT FORWARD PC APP TO ACCESS THE ISY, OR USE A NOTMAL DEFAULT HTTP / HTTPS INTERFSCE TO ACCESS THE ADMIN UI? I REMEMBER DOING THIS MANY MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND FINALLY DOING SOME CONVOLUTED THING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE AFTER A FEW HOURS OF EFFOFT AND AM NOT FINALLY COMPLAINING LOUDLY. UD Please reply and PLEASE fix this for all other users.

Hi guys thanks for the posts . I'm traveling this week on business and can be in touch next week . The project is going through a systems redesign for the larger scope which will then inform what and how should integrate with ISY or other monitoring/control systems.
-
I dont mind shifting to client-roll with a project leader (in many ways a welcome thought), but maybe that's not quite what you meant. Just looking for the right fit, narrow or broad. Enjoy the weekend, Thanks

I added to my description above as you were typing, crossed in forum air PS: Not a bad suggestion as a possible component

HI Sure, in a perfect world, nearby (Boston) would be a plus, but I'm not expecting that. I'm moderately competent ISY user and this is not mission-critical stuff (in the context that I am introducing some systems and monitoring that don't currently exist). If it all fails, I where I'm where I'be been for 25 years, which means fine. I'd just be better with the enhancement. Having said that, the real answer is, if it breaks I will fix/replace or seek assistance here or elsewhere. I realize my description is sparse as I was looking for interest and then would get into more details depending on the interested person. The point being, truly the assignment will be limited by the ability (and time) of the interest person and not by limitations of the project, including budget. We can keep it fairly simple and limited, or not. Here's a bit more context, without turning this post into a novel... I am changing/adding some systems to a few buildings including IP cameras, access monitoring, monitoring of some physical conditions e.g. moisture temp etc. I may add more (with the right person). Some of this is basic ISY stuff. Some would be enhanced from deeper integration of systems: sensors-to-cameras / timing of multiple-system events to each other / event data collection into useful usable info / communication between systems / which handles what notifications / UI / cross monitoring for failures in system(s). Some questions will include: Wired/wireless, what and when Elk, relay expansion boards, or http Polyglot and RPI, or not Which system leads/follows Which system interface site team uses for monitoring and how is non-system data incorporated. Note: I have installers, consultants for traditional components, i.e. cameras, network, etc. I am missing the more open-thinking ISY-type of brain/skill The above does not add much specificity, because the direction we take will change based on the contribution of the person I find. As stated it can just be adding some ISY stuff into the mix, or it could be a broader blank-paper conceptualization. Likely somewhere between. Hope this helps a little Thanks

Sure, I completely understand where you're coming from and certainly not everyone with the skills wants to "commercialize" them with ISY. I'm just surprised No One does. It will be an interesting assignment for the right person. Have a great Labor Day weekend!!
-
It is interesting there has been no replies to this inquiry. I wonder if that means few are using it for more than DYI home use AND other than demand response, no one sees it as having commercial application. I had expected some of the experienced users might be looking for a way to be paid for their ISY-time. I, for one, believe ISY DOES have real-world use outside one's own home. Just an observation.

Hi I am working on a camera and building monitoring project and will incorporate ISY for some tasks. I am looking an experienced ISY user to assist on a paid basis. This can be quite flexible and be done remotely. At its core this will involve a few basic components of ISY-stuff, including Z-wave door-window contacts. These will generate alerts for doors left open and also for camera triggers on specific door use. "Environmental" sensors, e.g. moisture, temp etc. These will monitor certain areas in a building. Using ISY to interface with a video control server called Blue Iris, for which there is an existing Polyglot nodeserver. 2-way data via Network Resources to other related components Etc, etc This wont be rocket-science, but will get as advanced as the person's ability/desire, i.e the scope will only be limited by your ability and interest. If you are interested, or if you can think of someone I should reach out to, please reply here or send me a PM This will be a VERY interesting project! Thanks

Does anyone know of an Android Wear app that can be used with ISY? To the extent I integrate ISY with my Harmony Hub, this one looks promising.... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.chunkybacon.harmonywear.pro Any with direct ISY integration on the lines of a watch version of Mobilinc? Thanks
-
Ok, thats different. What you're saying is you are using echo harmony skill to control harmony Activities via voice. Yes, as I stated in my post above that is very doable and I find it works quite well. But, this has nothing to do with ISY. however, this is not what the poster asked for. He asked how to control harmony via ISY, not via echo voice. having said this, you did teach me something new, which is that using echo one can trigger a echo group, effectively a simple macro, which in your case includes and ISY command. Thanks for that! The alternate way to accomplish the same: using Harmony add ISY as a device and on your TV activity include light on off dim etc. I would do it that way so whether I am using echo or harmony remote the light does the same thing. Further, you can control that specific light during the watch TV activity via Harmony by making a hard or soft button on your harmony remote dedicated to that lights control.
-
Yes but the critical and vital diference is that harmony wont be in sync because you have failed to trigger a harmony "activity" eg harmony still thinks tv is off so could turn it on via remote when you want to turn it off. With what you said, might as well omit harmony and use isy only for avcontrol (not my desire).

I am in on this topic too: - controling isy from harmony is very doable and straightforward: just add a wire (of any length) with ir "bleeper" at output end, from harmony hub ir out to isy ir in. One is somewhat limited by the number of IR commands isy will allow. with a bit more complexity this can be overridden by program-folder commands to multiply the number of IR commands. If you're within the base isy ir limit it's very simple -- as to triggering harmony activities from Isy: yes, this is still a work in progress… Absolutely isyhelper is fantastic! And Jimbo deserves very high marks! On the other hand, it does require RPI and I am not thrilled by that and I have looked at workarounds. I actually find Amazon echo to be very good but it's not isy controlled it's voice controlled. I have not tried IFTTT but I understand it works with some delay. Like others, I wish Isy would integrate with the harmony API, which in theory is very doable,in practice maybe not?? Alternatively if Isyhelper would work natively within isy without need for RPI that would also be great!! Bottom line as far as I know after much investigation and smile, there is still no perfect solution for controlling ISY from Harmony, Although if you're up for RPI, isyhelper is fantastic
