Brian H I’ve still got 4 from original install. Must have been bought at different times. V1.2 and V1.4 have larger standard looking transformer with a daughter board on top and they work fine. Put off a little heat as expected. 2 x V2.B both were dead so I recapped 5 positions on each. Completely different design with no transformer so Switching power supply right? Caps revived both. Did the tap work to make sure they saw each other and they did. Gonna likely buy 4 on off modules during next SH sale and get rid of them. Fixing them just gave me an electronic tinkering fix since I’ve got an ioLinc I can’t coax back to life. House full of dual band lamplincs and switches installed as replacements when the original wireline only versions failed so the APs probably not needed. Again, just needed to fix something. Lol

Brian H There is 5v on terminal and 21vdc across c7.

@Brian HI just recapped a v2.2 iolinc and it is still dead so something else at fault. When plugging it in the led flashes very briefly but goes off and stays off and it does not respond to any requests. There appears to be a very small transformer. Do you think it is the likely problem? I'm just throwing it in box with bad stuff in case a part from / reviewing it can of benefit in the future.

I’m certain this has been answered but keyword search finds so much... Getting PLM link count from PLM is problematic because it requires complete silence or index gets reset and repeated counts never agree on large busy installation. ISY must know all links since it is used to restore a replaced PLM. Is there a place to get the count from ISY database? Thanks

Put all devices in a scene as controllers.

Thanks. I’m new to electronic design. Is it possible they changed other components in conjunction with v2.3 update to C7. Also, Do you think I could just use a 10uf 400v if I can get it to fit?

@brian h Thanks for great information. I am looking at a version 1.2 unit. Got it apart and the existing capacitors removed. Few questions: 1. Are the replacement part numbers for someone like Mouser listed in the PLM thread? As I recall the replacement parts are significantly upgraded in specifications, ratings, and quality from originals. 2. Is the red compound on mains connections a version of lock tite or does it have electrical significance such as connection of different metals? 3. Was quality of assembly bad? Looks like flux or something similar is smeared all over board show in image. 4. You mentioned v1.0 had small filter capacitor on it. What was its number? Do I need to replace it? Images follow:

Iolinc is power line only so what is disc glued to front inside? Will post photo if needed. Just curious since I was considering a repair.

Does the PLM Links Table Diagnostic return a valid set of links and count (v4.5.4)? It appears that almost every time I run it I get a different count.

I found more than one device with the name .....
hart2hart replied to hart2hart's topic in Amazon Echo
I found issue and a fix. I had fine tuned spoken names through ISY portal. It appears all old names including overlapping names were stored in Alexa. Therefore I had to login to Alexa via Amazon and remove individual grayed out (offline) or remove all devices and rerun discovery. -
Paul, I am on central time.

I started echo integration small with 6 devices in my great room. They have names like great floor lamp and great overhead. This worked well for few weeks. Now when I use these names I get "I found more than one device with the name ....." for all 6 devices. I've discovered devices again and it finds 6 as expected. Suggestions?

I got same message about 3:00 am. Is it coincidence that is same time as nightly query all?

I handled the power failure issue by having a program that ran at start up to set each tstat to proper mode based on saved init value of a variable. I never saw them jump in between modes so I'd have program for each tstat with an instant alert via text (no mode setting only notify) so you can get visual confirmation.

When using ISY portal, can you configure lighting controller in Moblinc to still use auto setting so local wifi using http is preferred at home to keep great in home performance. EDIT after more thought. I don't think I'll need to use ISY portal for Moblinc --correct?

Writing the update should be all that is required. The pending updates are to update device for new PLM.

My little bit of experience is choose high quality vendors and then build mesh outwards from ISY. Number of devices is less important than placement of desired function devices and then filling in gaps with repeaters. Some secure devices like locks require extra care during link process. If I were you I'd procure garage door controller(s) and one Aeon labs Siren/repeater. Install garage door controller and determine if it works reliably. If not, locate repeater between ISY and garage door and heal network to establish mesh. With time the mesh network fill your location.

Version 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 have a font size setting under themes. I use it on 4K HP monitor.

Thanks for extra effort. I thought they were on the market so was looking for someone that had stock. I'll continue to watch site. I don't trust ioLinc even with wired sensor Insteon solution. Added two Schlage deadbolts about year ago, zwave air vent, and Aeotec siren as repeater to improve reliability. Felt this would remove concerns of ioLinc and build zwave mesh when I want to add other products within the technology as they make sense.

I've never been satisfied with ioLinc solution. Saw mention of Aeotec Gen 5 solution. Reviewed it here: http://aeotec.com/z-wave-garage-door-controller It looks good and so wanted any direct user feedback and to see where it was purchased Thanks

Okay. No one wants them [emoji1]. Just curious ... are bad capacitors likely culprit here? I might fix one to just to see if possible but wouldn't use it for fear of issues if device ever resulted in insurance claim -- Regardless of underlying cause.
