    Door Control

I completly expect the ISY to not be able to have full control over the system, Due to such as a fire or a power outage. Thats why the inside exit button will always have direct control over the maglock without requireing ISY input. I only want the ISY input more for convienence. Since the button will have to be held while pushing on the door to open I was hoping the ISY would mionitor the button and hold the maglock off for an addition 15 seconds for convienence. The button will always have direct control over the maglock its just a matter of if the ISY is down you will have to hold the button.

    Door Control

Hi All, I'm looking for an opinion. I'm in the process of installing maglocks on my house doors. I think I'm over complicating this. I have three doors with maglocks installed. The locks themselfs work great, I'm just in the process of figureing out the control side. I have three RFID kits to control entry and each maglock has a dry contact to monitor door position. I want the ISY to control each door individually so I need three outputs. I want the ISY to be able to monitor each door position, so there I need three inputs. Now here is where I think I'm over complicating the scenario. I want it to be not only fail safe but fail secure. So I have all three maglocks backed up with a deep cycle battery, fail secure done. Now I have three individual rfid kits on the outside and three push buttons for the inside that directly act on the maglocks so fail safe is covered. For convieneince I would like the ISY to monitor the open commands from the RFID kits and the push buttons as well so the ISY can act on the maglock for 15-20 so you don't have to hold the button while pushing on the door until it releases. I would think this should be easy the rfid kit would open a relay that cuts power to the maglock, if they isy monitors the rfid output the ISY could act on the maglock using the output to hold the maglock open for the desired amount of time. So if your still following me I count I will need six inputs and 3 outputs. I was looking at the EZIO8SA, the only problem is it really only has 4 dry contact inputs where I would need six. Does anyone have any better options or even a better solution. Don't ask why I'm using maglock, I just got a fascination with them. I find them neat and cheap. Hopefully My post isn't too confusing.
  3. I'm sorry guys. After banging my head off the computer screen for hours I decided to go through all 30 programs line by line to read exactly what they did. Little did I know I had a program called "wake-up lights" that's was doing the opposite. I over looked it because the name seemed unrelated. Sorry for wasting your time. 4. I will run the event viewer at sunrise to see what I get. Here is something else interesting. I changed the timing of the program from "sunrise to sunset" to a time value and watched it. With the time value it works just fine. It just doesn't work using the sunrise to sunset times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm running software level 5.0.2 as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Plus I can see the scenes turn on and then back off in the log. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There are no duplicates. Yes I have programs that react to the state change that's how I know it changes back. I have dog house lights that turn on when the value changes to 1 and when I checked during the day today they were on. At sunrise when the value goes 0 the lights turn off and that's how I know it changes at night all of the lights I had on outside mysteriously turn off at sunset. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It is indeed state variable. I don't see any programs that could possibly switching it back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I don't get it. The program just ran at sunrise and did the opposite it set it to 0 like it should and right back to 1. I even tried a different way to test by having two programs one to set it to 1 at sunset and one to set it to 0 at sunrise. I get the same result. This doesn't make sense to me. It appears there is something flawed with the sunrise/sunset parameter. I'm running the beta operating system, could that have something to do with it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I agree the program is not required. I just find it a little simpler when making new programs to use a set value instead of a time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Right now it shows it as false because it is outside the time window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sorry I guess I didn't copy that but yes the conditions are from sunrise to sunset same day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have a super simple program that is driving me nuts. I have a bunch of lighting related programs that are based off of ambient light. Since I dont have a photocell I amd useing sunrise and sunset times. To simplify this process I made a variable called "Light", if the varible is 1 its dark out or 0 for daylight. I thought this would be simple but for some reason the program runs just fine at sunset and changes the variable to 1, but for some reason it instantly changes it back to 0. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Here is the program I have... Outside Light - [iD 0008][Parent 0001] If From Sunrise To Sunset (Same day) Then $Light = 0 Else $Light = 1

  14. I have also heard of this. They claim it stands for "Chinese Export" and it's not the same logo because the C and E are closer together. Funny it uses the same font. Not to say that insteon products are using this deception. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

They replaced the "gas valve" today. Crossing my fingers. It's not very cold out right now so it isn't cycling much. Time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

The furnace guy just left. He replaced the same sensor the first guy did then while he was packing up it quit again. So now he has ordered a gas valve that won't be here until tomorrow night. They don't work weekends so he said they will replace it on Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

It's not a huge amount of traffic but it took what was a dead insteon network that only made noise when I hit a switch to having random traffic a few times an hour. I plan on unplugging the tstat tonight if the furnace is still screwed up after he leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

Right now the furnace is dead. It isn't a time of day issue. It keeps coming up fault code 10 unexpected gas flow detected. It attempts to ignite 4 times and pauses for 4 hours and the cycle continues. It seems coincidental to start happening shortly after I installed an insteon wireless thermostat to control my bathroom fan. I noticed the thermostat creates a considerable amount of traffic with temperature and humidity swings. The furnace guy has been replacing parts so far and he will be back today. In the end it could all be paranoia and something is wrong with the furnace and he just hasn't found it yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

My pellet stove is a smart stove that adjusts the fan speed based on the fire pot temperature so I wasn't sure if maybe it's making the sensor fluctuate or something. Like I said it hasn't bothered me because the only time I have noticed it is when I turn the garage light on or off which is insteon controlled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

I would never mention it. It only got me thinking about it after I read that the flame sensor uses a chassis ground to communicate with the board and it's not actually a switch it's a voltage generating sensor so the voltages from it I would imagine would be minute as well. Since the sensor uses a chassis ground it would be grounded to the house grounding which is bonded to the neutral. I know it's a round about way to receive interference but to me wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities. I was doing reading on this issue with York and apparently one of the possible causes is noisy electricity. On a side note speaking of insteon interference. I have a pellet stove in the garage and I noticed with it when insteon traffic is present the blower reduces speed. I don't really care too much because traffic isn't often enough to cause an issue. I just thought I would mention it since we are on the topic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Furnace Issues

Hey everyone. I got a strange issue that may just be paranoia. It's been getting cold out so I have had the furnace on but lately it's been giving me issues. I keep getting errors from the furnace causing it not to function. It's a new high end York modulating furnace that has no insteon control yet. The furnace tech has been out twice now since it obviously has warranty only being a little over a year old. Now since it has not been fixed yet I have started to research the issue myself. I get an error code "unexpected gas flow" so when I did my own poking apparently the furnace uses the flame sensor to diagnose this problem. If the flame sensor is on fire it produces a DC voltages and induces it into the ground of the furnace which is then picked up by the control board... My question is can the insteon traffic in the house somehow be interfering with this communication inside the furnace? The furnace guy is coming out again today and I'm sure if it is insteon interference it would baffle him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
