    GFI & ISY?

Before you replace the GFCI, (temporarily) bypass it to see if the problem persists.
  2. Under the Alarm tab there are two options, Motion Detection and IO. Did you check Enable under IO. BTW, if you do not have an IO option, then you do not have trigger capability. From the manual: I/O Alarm has four ports: Port 1 and port 2 indicate IO alarm output Port 3 and port 4 indicate IO alarm input
  3. According to the manual I have for the Foscam FI9821, ports 1 & 2 are used for alarm output and ports 3 & 4 are alarm input.
  4. If the box is metal and ground wires are connected to the box, then the ground wire attached to INSTEON device is not needed. I do removem then in that situation, especially for relay devices such as the OutletLinc and KPL On/Off as those are heavier wire than other devices. And to do so is in accordeance with both the National and Canadian codes.
  5. I use a Leviton 51120-1 in a home with more that 100 INSTEON devices.
  6. The supply voltage is alternating current (AC). AC has no polarity. The only reason line and neutral are so designated if that the neutral side is held at 0 potential wrt/ground for safety purposes. Nearly all plug-in power supplies and some lamps allow you the plug them in either way. Some fans use a slide switch to reverse the direction, so installing a FanLinc will still allow reversing. But, if the reversal is part of the electronics, then when you remove the original electronics, you remove reversing capability, too.
  7. The Open/Close module is for running a reversable motor a specific amount of time before turning off power. After an unspecified period of time, the motor is reversed for the specific time. For example, lowering a movie screen (it takes x seconds), watching the movie and then rolling the screen up (for the same x seconds). That would eliminate having to "hold" the up or down buttons to accomplish that task. But, that's not what you want. What yopu do want is an On/Off module, 2443-222 which, BTW, is rated for 15A.
  8. Thanks, Mike. I really enjoyed and learned from the session. Do it again! Stu Retired H.S. Teacher Mathematics/Computer Science
