Now I think I've figured it out! I had to generate a new self-signed SSL certificate. Now it seems to be working without port 80 forwarded. Thanks!
-
Thanks, Unfortunately, it does not work. I now have 33443 forwarded to the ISY 443, with 80 closed. I double checked the ports using a port-checker utility. 33443 is open, 443 and 80 are closed. When I head to https://myip.com:33443, the web browser seems to be just sitting and waiting. Nothing else happens. Any suggestions? Cheers!

Thanks Xathros, I followed the directions at PortForwarding.com, which mentions that for the ISY 99i, both 80 and 443 need to be forwarded to the ISY. I couldn't contact the ISY until I forwarded port 40. Any suggestions? Cheers!

Hmm. Seemed to figure it out. For whatever reason, I had to have my router forward port 80 and port 443. Port 443 didn't seem to be enough. Cheers!

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble accessing my ISY from work. My router is an Apple TimeCapsule that does not use upnp. I have manually forwarded port 443 to the static IP address of my ISY. I have a dynamic external IP from DynDNS. If I type in my home external IP address as https://x.x.x.x, the web browser just sits there, and never connects. Same if I type in my dynamic domain name. If I try to connect by telnet, there is a long delay followed by "Connection closed by foreign host." Any ideas why I can't connect to my ISY from outside of my home? Cheers!

Hi there, I've been looking at some of the iPad apps that can control Insteon stuff. They look pretty cool. I see that most of them can import devices and scenes, but can any trigger programs? For example, for my kitchen area lights, when you click the insteon button on the wall, it triggers a program that cycles all of the lights in the area through a series of levels of brightness. Does anyone know if any of these programs can trigger programs, rather than give access to scenes? I've been looking at: INTELLIhome eKeypad MobiLink Also, if anyone has any experience with these apps that they would like to share, that would be appreciated as well! Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have also had problems accessing my ISY externally. I read the Wiki. I have a DynDNS dynamic IP. That part works, as I can access my web server externally (Port forwarded to my desktop). I have an Apple Time Capsule as a router. I have forwarded UDP and TCP ports 443 to the ISY's static address on my network. Any suggestions? Cheers!

Whoops. Never mind. Poked around in the Notification section and I see how things have changed. Got it figured out now. Cheers!

Hi everyone, I logged on to my admin console today after upgrading to 3.2.6., and can no longer program email alerts. In my Program section, if I select the Notify action, the only option for To is Migrated, and the only option for content is Default. Any idea what happened? OS X 10.8.2. Java is v7 update 10. Cheers!

Hi gang, Can the ISY control both insteon and zigbee devices? Currently I have only insteon, but the new Hue bulbs from Phillips look neat. Cheers!
-
Thanks! I had been closing my browser, resetting Java, etc, but I had not used the new URL. I downloaded the new Applet, and now I seem to be in business. Thanks!

Thanks. Not sure what the UI is, but the About box show Insteon_UD99 v3.1.13 Product is ISY 99i/IR PRO (1050) Cheers!

Nope. I am on 3.1.13 and I don't have that entry Cheers! And what is worse, now that I am on 3.1.13, I can't add any new devices of this type. Under the last official release, they were discovered promptly and added as unsupported devices, now the ISY does not see these devices during the setup process. Any thoughts? Cheers!

Thanks! The instructions that you provide apply at the time of adding a new device? Cheers

3.1.13. Doesn't seem to recognize them. they work fine, though.
-
Thanks! You are correct, the item # is 2472DWH. They are listed as unsupported device 1.33. Cheers!

Hi gang, I bought a bunch of the new dual band 2473SWH Outlet links. I'm using the most recent beta, but they are reported on discovery as being an unsupported device. They do seem to be recognized as lamps though, and they seem to be working fine. Should I worry about the unsupported status? Cheers!

Never mind, I figured it out javascript:emoticon(':D') Cheers! Whoops. I don't think the link that I found has the latest 2.7.7 build. Can anyone direct me properly? Cheers!

Hi there, I want to upgrade to 2.7.7 from 2.7.6, but can't find the link for the download. I don't want to try 2.7.8 yet, as I have a large setup. Can anyone point me to the 2.7.7 download link? Cheers!

Hi gang, I have a Venstar Insteon thermostat controlled by my ISY. It worked fine in the winter when I had the mode set to HEAT. Now I have the mode set to AUTO, where you need to specify temperatures that will start either the heat cycle or the AC cycle. Can people who have this unit give me some examples of their settings? My doesn't seem to want to keep the house cool enough. I've got the cool setting at 72, heat at 68, yet my house is currently 78. Any ideas? Cheers!

Garage door opener for dummies (INSTEON model 74551)
to_lighter replied to to_lighter's topic in ISY994
Thanks Traditore, From the Owner's Manual: "Note: Momentary duration can be set manually anywhere from 2 seconds up to 25 seconds; 0.2 - 25 seconds from HouseLinc 2 or other home automation software/controller which supports this feature in I/O Linc." I was hoping that the ISY might by able to program the I/O Link to a shorter momentary duration. Does anyone from Universal Devices want to weigh in? Cheers! -

So far, no problems that way, although it was just installed. Cheers! -

One final disturbing observation. In my setup, if the door is obstructed, it will close anyway if triggered by an Insteon command. If something moves in front of the obstruction sensor while the door is closing then the door will stop and open back up again, but the fact that the door is obstructed is ignored if the obstruction is present when the Insteon command is sent. Cheers! OK, final experiment. In fact, my previous post is incorrect. With a fixed obstruction in place, an Insteon command will start closing the door. After the I/O Link's 2 second timeout, the door will recognize the obstruction and start moving upwards. This is much longer than the usual near-instantaneous response of the door's usual behavior. The 2 second delay could be a safety issue if the obstruction were tall, or if the door were already partly closed. It would seem that the ISY-99i can't set the timeout to anything shorter than 2 seconds, unfortunately. Cheers!
