  1. Here's a Z-wave solution requires no internet: GoControl I haven't used this with ISY but I used a previous model with Abode at my parent's house and it worked fine.
  2. Innoveli made plug in dual-controllable device. If you want a power strip, here is one by Zooz. Zooz Zen20 power strip individually controllable I have the power strip. edit: looks like Zooz has a dual: zooz zen25 double plug
  3. great to see, it's been a long time coming! I just upgraded from 5.0.16c. No obvious issue but I haven't looked much yet. (all z-wave setup)
  4. Thanks for the input. I just went in to check it again and it's not giving that error now. Weird! Wait a couple days and it goes away. I've got it working now. Waive the rubber chicken I guess. Thanks for the help.
  5. Bump. Anyone have any ideas?
  6. When I try to create the routine on the alexa app, I can see my state variable in 'device' but when I click it, I get an error that says "This device is not currently supported." In the app, I can go into settings->devices and I can see the state variable value. I can change the value in the isy admin console and see the value change in the alexa app. I tried both a motion sensor and a contact sensor in the isy portal. It doesn't seem to make a difference. I've removed the device from the app and added it back. No differences. It's not clear to me from reading the FAQ and ISY instructions for this what the 'spoken' is supposed to be in the isy portal. I just put 'ding dong'. I'm trying to get my alexa echo dots to do a broadcast message that the doorbell has been pressed. Any suggestions?
  7. What's the entry for your ntp server? Mine has pool.ntp.org and when I click sync it works.
  8. I think the Fibaro is not z-wave plus. I've purchased the Qubino and am about to install it. I have it connected to ISY but need to finish installing the LED light strips. 9. If you click 'Follow' at the top right of the thread you can subscribe to it and it can send you an email.
  10. There's another thread talking about Alexa and her recent behavior saying thing's aren't responding when they actually do what she says. That issue may be separate from the other issues you experienced.
  11. So, if you have even 1 zwave (non-plus) in your network does the entire z-wave network default to zwave (non-plus)?
  12. I've noticed the not responding message too. I've never had that before. I'm on 5.0.13 (not yet .13a). The devices do what they should -- I just get alexa telling me it isn't responding. I have only noticed it with my lights so I made the assumption it was specific to my lights. I'm glad it's not just me.
  13. I got to visit Boston in June for vacation and we visited many of the sights related to the revolutionary war. We visited the battle sight in Saratoga in upstate NY. Against all odds they achieved the freedom that we enjoy today.
  14. My 11 yr old son asked if he could have one in his room. It looks like they have children controls but I'm leery of him having it in his room -- too easy to have it give all the answers to his homework.
  15. I already have 2 echo dots interfaced with my isy and google had a promotion with their phones and I ended up with 2 google home minis. I already have my echo dots setup and wondering what I could do with these things. I really don't need more coverage. Are the dots better than the mini or the other way around and I should swap in the minis? Or, just find some place to use them? What would you do?
  16. I didn't find the "forget all" either. I only had 5 devices so I did them one at a time. Ugh.
  17. Yeah, mine are isy programs that call a network resource for the lights.
  18. I ran into this when I first got my dots 7 months ago. I was hoping over time these issues would get better. I have had to disable commands which is annoying. I can turn lights off but not back on. If I enable both commands neither work. I have to choose which I want more. Maybe I'll come up with code words like 'purple elephant' for turning the lights on and 'blended trees' to turn them off.
  19. I also thought Target was an odd tie-in for such a product.
  20. I found it easiest to just use the pre-built binaries and not try to check out from git. This is on my rpi. Then I setup a script (found here on the forum) to auto-start the polyglot on boot up. I also have a little script that I can run to update the binaries from git. That has made it pretty easy to maintain and I get to ignore all of the complexity of git and compiling, etc. (I failed going the route of git and compiling in the early days and switched to the pre-built binaries and have been happy since.)
  21. Larrylix, what's the latest and greatest documentation in ver 5 to do these dates? My wife would like the Christmas lights to stop coming on. Rather than just disable the programs I'd like to future proof the code so that it can handle month/day regardless of year like you are doing above. I'm wondering if further v5 betas have further simplified this from your code above.
  22. https://github.com/kohai-ut/sonos-isy/blob/master/sonos-isy.py In my script, I try to track where the sonos was in the playlist so that I can try to resume after playing my networked wav file. This script doesn't use polyglot which is what I want to use... I wrote this before the sonos polyglot was available.
  23. Sonos can't store audio files but you can tell it to play a file that is located somewhere on your network. I do that for my doorbell. I wish it were more straight forward. I have installed the polyglot for sonos but haven't tried delving into how I can get it to play an audio file.

  25. The reason I keep looking at them is that vacuuming likely just doesn't happen and I have two kids that generate crumbs at a rapid rate. I think I just have too much sq footage and don't want to put up barrier devices to keep them in the kitchen/tv room. I read somewhere when the samsung came out that it had a different sucking system than the roomba. I guess I'm not sure what they meant by that if the roombas do suck.
