Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Wow, I didn't know that any "Nokia" branded products were ever shipped. Did I misunderstand your post or did you actually get some of their Nokia products? Thanks,

Insteon acquired and servers coming back up
Everyone on this forum that use an ISY or Polisy and Insteon should post immediately on this link. They are asking for input. Keep your input concise and focused on the benefit UDI brings to the success and longevity of Insteon and how much Insteon needs to support UDI and make the PLM available, improved and/or licensed to UDI. If enough of us do this we may get their attention and move this issue up their priority list. They want to know what will help make Insteon successful, so tell them and let them know you want to continue to buy from them. I would avoid a long laundry list and it will only water down our primary focus on Insteon's success by partnering with UDI. Make your voice heard!

ISY and Insteon 2982-222 Smoke Detector Bridge
I plugged mine in recently using my ISY 5.x and it populated in it with several items. I didn't have a compatible smoke detector so I couldn't check that part out. Now I just use it as an RF repeater. Works great for that. Here is what is showing up on the Admin console:

Any Ceiling Fans have zwave built in?
Not sure all that the Pro model includes, first I have heard of it. I have the regular one and it is great. Bond has a comparison guide here: https://bondhome.io/product/bond-bridge-pro/

Any Ceiling Fans have zwave built in?
Wow, 15 outdoor fans? Each with a z-wave fan controller? Mine all have 6 speeds plus variable speed and of course reversing. What I see on the Enbrighten controller you have to give up 4 of the speeds and the reversing of the fan. Do you add another z-wave switch for the light also? I am guessing that you probably can't do RF with all of them since most fans only offer 2-3 RF channels to operate on.

What Insteon did right......
I'm waiting for the person who puts an OFF/ON lamp module on their ISY so they can reboot it from remote if it locks up. ?

I have yet to try the IR feature, so I can't speak much about it. But I may try it in the near future.

Any Ceiling Fans have zwave built in?
2 of my fans came from Lowes and they were their Harbor Breeze models. One old one probably came from Home Depot and it is a Hunter. These are very common brands. But even then the Bond can be programmed to work with non-listed devices as long as they are RF and IR compatible. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding ones that work. Mine were already in place before I heard of Bond. I have two other very old fans that have no remote control at all, of course they don't work with Bond, yet. (-: EDIT: Thinking again of your question "would I recommend them?", I assumed you meant because they work with the Bond device. But if you are asking me for a "quality" recommendation, I am pretty satisfied with all of them. I try not to buy the cheapest fan available regardless of the brand, but the Harbor Breeze models I bought were in the $150-$200 range 5 years ago and have been very good.

What is amazing about the Bond is I just powered it up, logged in, added all my fans and I was in business on their app. No wiring, no switches, nothing. It even works from one end of my house to the other. Then I added the Bond node and the ISY was enabled, etc. When/if I move, I can just unplug the bond and take with me. In addition it fully supports all available fan speeds (not just 3) and reverses the fans when needed as well as controlling the lights. It is only $99 on Amazon, what is not to like? I wouldn't even consider adding any smart switch in the wall even if it was just for one fan. Then there are the many other RF and IR devices it supports. And as far as I can tell, it still works without Internet, but probably not the app, but I don't ever use that anymore. This has been one of the best "smart home" devices I have owned.

What Insteon did right......
I was a big X10 fan early, early on. But it really was a fight all the time keeping everything talking. I almost gave up on smart home automation in the early 2000's as the smart meters rolled out and rolled over most of my X10 signaling. I pulled almost every X10 and gave them away. Then I took another chance a few years later with ISY and Insteon (quickly moving to dual band) and really enjoyed SH projects that work and work well, especially using the ISY. I'll be holding on to my Insteon (especially since I have plenty of spares) for a long time.

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
This isn't good for anyone hoping to take over the IP and other assets in a reasonable time frame. With courts involved it will drag out a year or two and the biggest asset, the customer base, will have moved on. Technology is like groceries, it does have a short shelf life. Users of Insteon cloud will probably have switched protocols long before this is resolved. Insteon will be relegated to the X10 category, only of interest to the most hard core user like us UDI fans. IMO.

If you have an account on Ebay sell it there. I put mine up for a 3 day auction at $100 with a buy-it-now for $250. It went in 1 hour for $250. People willing to pay these prices want it now, not in 7 days. In 7 days the prices may have crashed as people come to their senses. It cost ~$13 to sell it and they paid the shipping. Also, list it as "New(other)" and explain why you don't have a box, but it powers up and is unused. There seems to be a big difference in new vs. used $$ and for good reason.

Default Startup page is no longer Favorites Android .139
My old Android phone died so I don't know what version I was on previously and I lost the local backup of UD Mobile of course. Just installed it again on my new Android version 10 phone and added lots of favorites to the favorite screen. When I start the app it doesn't automatically start on the favorite screen instead it starts on the "home" screen, unlike on my prior phone. I've looked and looked thru the admin area, settings area, forum and wiki and can find nothing about this ever existing as a feature. So I am not sure if I am doing something incorrectly or maybe it only existed in the alternate universe that I came from. ? Any suggestions on turning this feature back on? After all, it did save me one extra click each time I entered the UD Mobile app which is my favorite place to be on my phone. ?

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
This is what is strange to me. The assets of this company are probably minimal, except the IP (intellectual property) and URLs. They are worth something and maybe the tooling that is probably in China. I think the bank came calling on a note and Rob exited the back door ahead of them. Follow the money...

Just sold my spare Insteon 2245 hub on Ebay for $250 in less than one hour. Prices are crazy on line today.

Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
As an Insteon only on ISY user for 10 years, I understand the vitriol against Insteon/Smarthome for the "sudden" shutdown and abandonment of their user base. But if they were going to pick a time to do it, then they may not have picked a better time based on Ebay prices for Insteon. What could be a better time to sell off 20 year old technology at almost or more than what you paid for it? If you don't like dealing with Ebay, PM me a list and I'll buy it for as good or better than a pawn shop price. ?

New Nokia Insteon Devices
Nokia isn't "selling" anything and has almost nothing to do with this product line. They just sold their name to be used by Smarthome/Insteon. It's silly to me for posters to keep referring to the product line as "Nokia's" as if that makes it magically better or to come from Europe. So viva NiNo or Nokeon or Instakia, etc, etc. ?

2413S PLM work around?
Talk about 2413S PLMs on ebay, there is one that has 3 days of bidding to go and it is already up to over $200. Wow. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154712653107?hash=item240597bd33:g:2GQAAOSwXsdhmtFs

Repair of 2413S PLM When the Power Supply Fails
I have an Outdoor Insteon On/Off module that is acting up, so I thought I would open it and check the caps. But this device is totally sealed in it's plastic box, I guess to protect it from moisture. Has anyone found a way to open it so that it might possibly be resealed after repairing it?

GFIC Tripping
I am running about 6 Insteon outdoor modules (PN 2642?) for many years and of course they are all downstream to GFIC units. I have had 1 outdoor module fail in that time period. They are in the open and do get some rain on them. I have had one GFIC get too sensitive and pop too often, so I replaced it and no more issues. Just mentioning this because the Insteon outdoor modules do work well outside and communicate well. I would never put the indoor units outdoors.

Be sure to CC me when you explain this one. My curiosity is peeked. ? But I think I can envision your usage.

Suggestions
One feature that might help us with others in our family by allowing them to use UD Mobile, but not change features or to allow them to drill down into programs, variables, etc, would be a local "setup" password on UD Mobile. It might lock them into favorites only and not allow accessing home folders, editing or adding icons or other features without entering the local password.
