Just got a new unit ordered, they came in faster than expected. Unfortunately, the Z-Matter is still out of stock. When the new ISY arrives, should I wait to upgrade, or is the Z-Matter plug and play so as to pick up what it needs from the programs?

My programs and scenes are very simple ( I think), so that said, I guess I'll just backup and move to restore the eISY when I get it. Anything not working then can just be rebuilt. I'll get the eISY, the Z-Matter and a serial PLM kit. The Schlage lock program is the toughest thing I've got (multiple scenes and programs to make the keypad lights work proper), maybe someone will have a better way to skin that cat when I get there. Thanks for all the insight.

Would the upgrade to 5.X go better if my 994 was on the same software and I worked out the program/scenes prior to migration?

Geddy: Thank you. I am going to wait until UD gets the units back in stock, then get one here and move over my back which is 4.7.3. I guess I'll have to take my licks with however it goes. Guess I could get a 4.7.3 backup from the 994, then upgrade the 994 to 5.X, then I'd have that backup too. Not knowing if getting an eISY is 3 days or 6 months, I just don't want to create a bucket of worms in the meantime. I appreciate all the tidbits, especially the COPY headsup. In the end, it will be OK, just like anything else new, its a big learning curve.

I've got 68 Insteon various switches, 4 keypads, 2 Schlage locks, 2 Sirens that bridge the locks. I have 39 programs. I have 30 scenes. Everything is easy to get to. The scenes are somewhat complex.

Not sure how to tell what board it is? Can you explain the "Portal" thing to me? ON another thread some talked about UDMobile, is that a better option. I simply want to lock/unlock and monitor/change lighting when away. I used to have a network communication that would turn on/off motion detectors on AXIS cameras, but AXIS ruined that a couple years ago. I'd love to be able to get that back, but have had no luck. I'm still on 4.7.3. Was told I should upgrade to 4.9.0, but am hesitant knowing I'm moving to eISY. I'm ope to any help and comments, Thanks

I'm just in the infancy (actually waiting for stock) in transitioning to eISY from a very reliable 994. Can anyone direct me to the best path to start and accomplish this transition? Also, I guess Mobilinc will go to the sidelines when 994 does. How will I be able to use the new eISY with my iPhone when away? Is this what the "Portal" is for, or is there another purpose for that? My 994 was just a local unit that I either accessed by the Admin console, or Mobilinc. Thanks

I'm all ears... How do you set this up? 994? I was also told that "Home Assistant" would import all of ISY and it would provide notifications. Anyone done that? Thanks.

I too did the app password deal 4 years ago with NO issue's until now. I have tried the new app password route and nothing works anymore. I even went as far as to setup a GMX account to try and have it do the sending. It didn't work either. In researching it, it comes down to TLS 1.3 vs. TLS 1.0. 1.3 will not allow the format of sending from the 994. The only way would be to find an email provider that gives TLS in the lesser form! I gave up as my last post details. I'm just going to buy new hardware from UD when it becomes available. Why some folks are still Gmailing is beyond anyone but maybe a geek at Google. My guess is their day will come too.

I've gone as far down the road as I can. There seems to be no way to make the notifications work. I've stuck with my 994 as long as I can (it still works perfect). The fact that eventually everything reaches a life end, I have decided to just buy a new EISY and get somewhat back to the future... That said, I'm on the waiting list now for new stock to arrive. I never would've thought there was a backlog of chip supply again. Hope the wait isn't long. In the meantime, my 994 just wont be able to send me emails - but it will work everything else.

Geddy: Thanks, but all that said, I and others are still having issues with Gmail despite the fact that others are not. I have used Gmail for years to send from ISY. Now all of a sudden I (and others) are having issues. What would be causing this and when I ask for a resolution, I'm asking for help from you and others in troubleshooting it. I'm pretty sure that it's related to tls. ISY 994i, 4.7.3 Any help from you and other members is much appreciated. For what it's worth, I also have AXIS cameras using Gmail to send mail/notifications using SMTP and TLS from the same Gmail account utilizing the second step authorization code and they are still working fine!

My range is excellent (without even having to use an external antenna that's included). I was hoping for an easy integration, but nothing is easy.

I've got an old 994. I just installed the Ring Mailbox sensor and found that they do NOT allow the Ring chime to link to it. The mailbox "motion" sound on the Ring app stinks. It is so quiet; you barely hear it. I'm looking for a way to link it somehow through my ISY and make an alarm of some sort sound when the mailbox is opened. I've looked through what there is on the forum re: this and didn't find any work arounds. Is it possible somehow?

I just factory reset (confirmed that all scenes were removed), I then restored the device and confirmed all scenes were operational. The LED flashes green upon each subsequent button push, and each scene works properly. However, when at resting (all off), the LED is a faint red. What is this telling me?

After many years of no issues... Tonight I found a KPL (2334-2) v.45 with a light turned on. I turned out the light and tested all 8 buttons. All buttons control scenes or other Insteon. All worked as programmed. I then noted that the lower unit LED was dim red. As has been the practice years ago, I pulled out the reset switch/LED and waited a minute. When I reset it the 8 buttons momentarily flashed and all lights/scenes were off as they should. In about ten seconds the LED became a dim red and would intermittently flash bright green. I checked the unit in ISY and all looks good. What do I have going on? If i need to replace it, I see that they are out of stock, any idea how long they'll be? Thanks

You guys are miles ahead of me, slow up? What I can gather from the forum(s) that discuss this is tha I must have 5.X software first of all, is that right? I see no Polyglot tab anywhere in my ISY. Once I get my equip. where I need it, could someone then give me the MyQ For Dumb aLf book? How do I then get the MyQ to talk to me and can I write a program, or does it have to be done with a variable? I'm capable, but way behind the curve in ISY. Tim

This subject was touched on years ago, and I'm not sure if there is any new flavor on it now? I have a KPL button which shows locked/unlocked status of a Schlage lock that goes from the house to the garage. I have it programmed as to show on when the door is locked - works great. The Chamberlain overhead garage door was left open the other night and found in the AM. (Thankfully nothing was missing) . I have the MyQ installed on the door and also have the app on my phone (also works well). Is there any (easy) way to get the MyQ to talk to the Insteon/ISY network and add a status call that could be used on my KPL. i.e., IF: Schlage is locked and IQ shows closed, THEN: turn KPL button ON?
