  1. right! AND is like multiply and OR is like add when employing the distributive theorem. Also, everything in the parenthesis are evaluated, then AND, then OR. I knew something didn't look right. I appreciate the correction!
  2. @paulbates I tried this and no unexpected programs were run. I looked at the event log and it was as expected. Shortly after the On-1s-Off-1s-On event, I turned the light off. Then I turned it on. Different symptom: On-1s-Off, though the button was still lit. I turned the button Off, then On and the light stayed on. This is not a priority, it's just a curious bug. I suppose I could create a program: IF: buttonA TurnedOn or buttonB TurnedOn or buttonC TurnedOn AND (not buttonA TurnedOff and not buttonB TurnedOff and not buttonC TurnedOff) THEN: turn on relay ELSE: turn off relay
  3. You fellow automators are awesome! Two new tricks learned! Now all I have to do is get the symptom to appear on command! (BTW it's "find/replace" not "search". )
  4. I have a lot of programs. There are times I'd like to see into which programs a device is used or referenced. Is there a utility for this? Current reason. When I turn on my "Kitchen Island" light, it comes on for a second, turns off for a second, then turns on. I have a scene with the relay that is the actual switch and three other buttons. I know I have a program that is triggered by a double tap (fast on/off). But I don't know if the device (relay) is in any other program. Any thoughts out there?
  5. In order to get the screen shots, I had to unlink my account. "OK Google, Google Assistant Settings" tap settings Home Control Menu (upper right three dots0 Manage Accounts Universal Devices Unlink Account Now I have to figure out how to remove duplicate and deleted devices/scenes/programs
  6. Hold the presses! Instead of going to Google Home, I went to Google Assistant. 1 Open Assistant with "OK Google, google assistant settings". 2 Tap settings below 3 Scroll down to [Home control] and tap it 4 Tap the blue circle with the plus 5 Type "univ" in search box. 6 Tap on [Universal Devices] 7 Log into your Universal Devices account
  7. Yes, I was confused! I would like to say, "OK Google, Turn on Desk Lamp" The images I've attached show how I have set up the portal. I have done nothing more. That is, I have not told Google Assistant how to find SEFHouse or SEFHouse how to find Google Assistant. Following the wiki, ISY Portal Google Home Integration, as you can see, I have completed the 10 steps of ISY Portal Google Home Integration. It is the Google Home Application, steps that I cannot complete. The problem comes when I get to step 7 after I tap on [Devices] ... scanning ... No devices found. Step 8 is to [ADD NEW DEVICE]. I don't see that. I am missing something, I'm sure it's trivial, but it eludes me. Do I have to have a "Home device" ? As a note, I have set up my Harmony Hub and can say, "OK Google, ask Harmony to turn on video" and, lo and behold, the video comes on. Thanks for your help.
  8. I'm trying to get Google Assistant to send commands to my ISY. I have been successful at doing this with Amazon. When I follow the instruction, google home looks for a device (eg. echo) but finds none. I cannot follow the rest of the instructions because I do not have those pages. I'm getting the felling that one must own a google device to get this working. Is this correct?
  9. Don't buy the Insteon 2411R, or the 2411T, they are not well integrated and very buggy, the latter is a real POS. If you pay for shipping, I'll send them to you. I'd like to see a network solution with the ISY sending commands to the Harmony remote, which then send out the appropriate IR signals to the TV and receiver. (My ISY is in a closet with all my other network devices, the TV is in another room)
  10. I hadn't used IFTTT in about 10 months. It wasn't working well then and I had other priorities. I'm back at it now. At first, I couldn't get it to work at all. Finally, I changed the key and it was working like a champ! But that's when I was clicking on [Check Now]. I found that IFTTT would take 2 or more hours to react when left to do it on its own. My trigger is gmail, waiting for a specific subject with certain words in the body of the email. This is not acceptable for my purpose. I suspect that it has to do with IFTTT checking gmail. Is there another trigger I could use besides email?
  11. Thanks for the ideas! Today, everything seems to be working! Perhaps it takes a day, or hours, to get your recipe into the system. I was noticing about a three minute lag, which I can tolerate. This is very cool! OSD
  12. Yes, I'm new to this; patience please. Here's my goal. Send a text of something like "bulb on" to a certain phone number. The text will be forwarded to my email. I know the subject line and in the body will find "bulb on". This works every time. On Portal I set up under [iSY] tab, on my isy under [Tools] column, drop down [select tool ...] -> Connectivity -> IFTTT (note I get two error messages and ) and you'll see that I have created two events Next I use IFTTT to IF read the new emails, search for "bulb on" subject:"SMS from (aaa) xxx-nnnn" THEN send a notification to the portal (I really appreciated the icon next to the events that gives me the url Here's the problem, most of the time, nothing happens, but sometimes, the bulb goes on (or off) but twenty minutes later! Also, nothing happens when I click on "check recipe" in IFTTT. Is there a way in Portal to see if the command is being sent to my ISY? I'm not even sure if the IFTTT is getting the trigger. Thanks for your help. OSD
