Interesting; my Echo Dot is 4148 and the full-size Echo is 4008. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the heads up. I confirmed this is working on my echo dot with software version 4148 and the echo with software version 4008. I know the software Version number for the echo did not change because I checked the other day when the discussion started here (but reported as not working yet) and it was also 4008; i'm not sure about the echo dot Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Echo and Fanlinc
I have been having a similar issue. I also have high medium low and I have a bunch of fans in different rooms. Sometimes she'll ask me to repeat a command say she have several devices with that name so I was thinking to try maybe speed numbers like 1 to 3 but I haven't yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for sharing the details. As I said I currently have identical voice commands on both Echo accounts. The only area where I run into problems is when rooms have identical scenes (i.e. room 1 dim, room 2 dim) in the various rooms. I need to play around with the syntax and voice prompt to see if I can reduce the instances where Alexa says: "I have several devices with that name, which one do you want?" My preference would be to have one account for everything if I can manage to make the voice commands work reliably, given my specific set up. I even created a word document with all the various voice commands to train all the household members, myself included! Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pre-ordered a Six-pack of white last night; estimated arrival is 10/25, so the pre-order numbers must be substantial. It would be nice to mix and match colors in the pack; 4 black, 2 white. After all, the order can always be cancelled before it ships (yeah, right). Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many Amazon accounts you have? The wiki indicates you need separate Amazon accounts, so I just wanted to clarify with an actual use case. From the Wiki instructions for using multiple Echo's smart home: "Have your Echo's tied to two different Amazon accounts" Thanks. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The mount for the echo dot that I purchased on Etsy (the designer girls) will still work because the diameter has not changed from the old to the new versions . I learned about this "Etsy" mount in this forum. Thinking hard about getting a six pack, but I think Amazon made this move because the Google home product will probably launch at the October 4th hardware event. It remains to be seen what Google home will offer as far as integration with the ISY, and how much it will cost. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nevermind: If you read the posts on the previous page, I was confused on how this worked. Or one could say I was "misled" by the Wiki.

Here is what it said in the email: As a customer who purchased the previous–generation Echo Dot, you can get a $10 Alexa Shopping credit when you order the All-New Echo Dot using Alexa Shopping. Order today through October 20 and a $10 Alexa Shopping credit will be applied to your account within one week after your new Echo Dot has shipped.

According to the Wiki, you do need a another Portal account, but it is a sub-account: · Have your echos tied to 2 different amazon accounts. Create a secondary account on the original prime account using a different email address and password to log into amazon. You must deregister the new echo from the primary account and then set it up on your secondary amazon account. · In the ISY Portal: · Create a sub-account · Add your ISY to this sub-account, and approve access to it in the admin console. · Create a user profile in this sub-account for the second echo · Link this user profile with your second echo's amazon account. This is where the Wiki instructions were not clear (at least to me). You must be logged into the sub-account when you link the second Echo device. · To edit spokens for your second echo, switch to your sub-account first · To edit spokens for your first echo, switch to your root account first Once again...Argh!

I had a thread going or maybe I posted in A thread with a similar topic and Michel was posting in there and then when I finally realized that I had to login to the secondary ice my portal account for linking then he was like oh yeah that should've been clear I don't think the wiki was ever updated The very first thing in the Wiki about the Echo devices should be if you're spoken's are going to be identical you can use the same Amazon in the same ISY portal account that was definitely not clear to me at least. Anyway now I know I can use one Amazon account and one ISY portal account given my situation. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why isn't this information in the the UDI Wiki? They go to great lengths to point out the complicated steps necessary to have multiple Echo devices, and I wasted a lot of time trying to get past one intricacy (linking separate Amazon accounts) not properly identified in said Wiki! What happens when you issue smart home commands for the ISY? And it seems like you're able to only have four portal accounts because of the fact that two of your six devices have different trigger names (Alexa, Echo, Amazon) than the others. Do I understand that correctly? How many Amazon accounts so you have for those six devices? Four? Thanks. Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have two devices now with the required two separate Amazon accounts and two separate ISY portal accounts and if they both hear me, both will issue smart home commands, set timers, and play music. I'm not sure if that answers your question or not. Edit: I have both of them set up with identical voice commands syntax Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The selling of multiples is precisely why I am hopeful that we will no longer need multiple Amazon accounts and multiple ISY portal accounts when using multiple echo devices with the smart home V2 API. They sent an email if you previously owned a dot indicating you would get a $10 Alexa shopping credit if you order the new dot with Alexa. I don't really use it for shopping so I would have to remember to use it to take advantage of the $10 credit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have had the Echo Dot connected to both computer speakers and now to an old stereo AVR and over the course of approximately four months I have not noticed any audio issues, but I guess I could've missed it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wonder if the forthcoming software update will now allow multiple echo devices on a single Amazon account to work with the SmartHome V2 and one ISY portal account? I already have two Amazon and ISY Portal accounts for my two Echo devices if I want to get a third now I need three accounts for each! Argh! First world problems!
