  1. This is an awesome link! thanks!
  2. I just tried this, your correct!! This is an update in later 5.x I believe, I just tried looking thru release notes but didn't immediately spot a line I'm remembering about the buttons.
  3. If you have AT&T the SMS/MMS gateway isn't really reliable (it works about 97% of the time but the 3% failure rate will occur when you really wanted the message the most) (AT&T also uses different gateways for SMS and MMS use the MMS one with the ISY). If you have another carrier I can't speak to the reliability. If you have Polisy or the networking module I would recommend using Pushover instead. There are two nodeservers to pick from, or if you don't have Polyglot, you can simply create network resources per the wiki. I would recommend using 2500 or 3000 as the timeout tho.
  4. That works great for one device. Yes, you can set the devices backlight level to a value. However when you move to a second device it appears that the device is already set to whatever level you just used on the first device. Again if you understand whats happening here you can change the level of the second device to that actual level by setting it twice. First chaning the dropdown to a random value and letting the change go thru, then again setting to the value that first appeared. (or you can restart the admin console between device 1 and 2). For more than 1 or 2 devices it's by far simplest and fastest to just use the temp program method explained above.
  5. Yes you can, and it's the easiest workaround to the bug if there is more than one to set. All you need to do is add entries to a THEN body. You can add as many as you like. Save the program, then right click it in the program tree and select "run then" Once you've verifed they all are set as you would like them, you may delete this program. EDIT to add: if you don't use this program method, the GUI bug makes it difficult to set more than one device without restarting the admin console between each device or setting after the first each device twice in a row, once to arbitrary value and then a second time to your value.
  6. a related bug is that with backlight=0 you can only use 8 of the 15 levels for "ON" that bug still exists as well. With backlight = 1 or above all 15 ON options work correctly.
  7. Depends what information you need. in the admin console, Tools -> Generate Topology will generate an HTML file. Depending on the number of nodes in your ISY it may take several minutes to complete, when it's finished it will open the HTML file in a browser, just close that. Open Excel and navigate to the folder that you directed Generate Topology to place the file in. Depending on how some excel options are set you may see the .html file listed or you may have to change a dropdown to "all files". Once you find it, open it in excel and excel should import the file correctly then you can save it as Excel. Depends on what you're looking for tho as to whether it will be included. I used this method to generate a list of Insteon addresses for "Just in case" or "disaster recovery" so that I'd never have to remove wallplates or sort thru a folder of pictures I took looking for the correct location (I snap a pic after the device is installed so i can find the address and Ver info later without removing the wallplate.)

Check out this thread for some alternative noise filter ideas. (towards the end)
  9. the missing step is in my post above.

The Leviton 6287 5-amp Noise Block is a disconnected product. Sometimes you can find them on ebay. The two LED lights, what style are they? just a bulb? strip fixture or what? If you can still return them you might want to do that and buy a different option. Part of my evaluation of any new device or bulb anymore is if it makes noise that disturbs insteon it gets returned immediately. then I buy something else.
  11. I just answered your other one... I suspect you havent added the devices in the portal at https://my.isy.io Select Tool > Connectivity > AMazon Echo
  12. I'm not the target of your comment? it sure seems direct at me... let me quote you again: Please contact UDI, support@universal-devices.com and request to return your polisy. I'm certain @Michel Kohanim will approve your full refund. It's obviously not for you. I will not accept the bait and reply again. Please get a refund from UDI then get professional counseling.
  13. I figured it out for myself by reading this forum and the UDI wiki, and other documentation linked from those places. I'll tell you that much. Had you shown you wanted to learn I might have helped. But go figure it out for yourself... I'm not going to spoon-feed you, Chew it for you and swallow it for you.
  14. Don't expect anymore help from me. You're welcome.
  15. Michel, Thank you for saying exactly what I've suspected for a long time. Transparency goes a long way. Now I am able to use actual information rather than my own theories to shape the direction of activities.
  16. This is in fact possible. I know because I'm using a unpublished nodeserver on polisy from github (it was branched from another version and developer didn't have supporting hardware for this branch to test, it was left untouched for over 2 years). I've also modified it. I'm also working on a entirely new version of the same that I intend to publish someday in the store for others. So please stop repeating all your fallacies and change your attitude and become willing to learn.
  17. To speed setup, after you have the first up and going use "Copy Folder" and then rename the folder appropriately. And then edit programs to change devices. I find that to be much faster when setting up multiple similar objects.
  18. If you have the rear blue light next to Port A you do in fact have a 300 series dongle. Go back to 5.0.16C until you upgrade it. You can order the new board direct from UDI.
  19. The advantage to it selling on SmartHome.com tho, is that people have been shopping for smarthome devices on that site since 1995. People don't randomly shop on universal-devices.com unless they already heard of it and came specifically to buy it.
  20. It takes awhile to set up, but i use programs to accomplish exactly what you're asking for. See this post.
  21. I also noticed that smarthome seems to have discontinued ISY's.
  22. Interesting. They were in stock not long ago (I ordered one over the summer), I didn't notice they were out of stock when I linked them yesterday, but one thing that's different of the micro modules... they are still active items (the link hasn't been turned off), other discontinued items seem to vanish from view. It sad to see this. One of the things that differentiated Insteon was all of the specialty items.
  23. they actually make a version of that without the yoke or plastics. https://www.smarthome.com/products/in-linelinc-dimmer-insteon-2475da1-remote-control-in-line-dimmer-dual-band https://www.smarthome.com/products/in-linelinc-relay-insteon-2475sdb-remote-control-in-line-on-off-switch-dual-band I hadn't noticed the white only thing yet... but you're right....
  24. He succeeded!!.... You quoted all 3 of his link spamming attempts, now he has links and mentions...people are talking about that site! at least that what search engines think.....
  25. MrBill replied to bmiller's topic in ISY994
The poster above you is just a link spammer... He got you to bite.... you're quoting his links (that's what he hopes people will do because that is what helps his link spamming cause). I reported all 3 of his posts early this morning.
