  1. @JGallombardo You may be experiencing problems with rate limits. Amazon only allows so many API calls per minute, per hour, etc disabling/enabling has been proven to eat alot of traffic. It's more time consuming but I think it's better to delete and rediscover devices and scenes than disabling/reenabling the skill. one of the problems with Alexa is they don't publish some of the rate limiting rules of the API, but it's designed to keep any user from using up all the resources, or getting stuck in a loop.
  2. It looks like your company is located in Brazil? Are you serving customers in the US / Canada? If so what are shipping times etc?
  3. no idea other than what @tmorse305 mentions which is available in the PG2 store. for nodelink see this post: and this website:http://automationshack.com/wp/nodelink I think logging is a function it has, but i've never used it.
  4. Has he changed anything with his internet connection or router? did the cable get unplugged somehow? If the answers are no and no, then the next step would be to have him reboot the ISY. Once you can get into it, the error log may have clue about why it went offline.
  5. Yes we'd need Rob Lilleness or someone with access to their server. We'd really need to get THAT server back online, but if it was no longer available we'd at least need the software. "No cost to them" is alot of big words in a small space. It's fairly expensive to keep a server online. There's the server, or rented space itself and then someone to maintain it... and that's just the start. We'd need at least 1000 users signed up that were willing to pay $20/month to break even.
  6. Is the light green? Why do you think it died? as @Athlon points out you may want to start your own thread in Questions and Answers or Communication issues. Your post here will get lost.
  7. sort of, but not completely. Even switches coming from the factory have garbage in the memory. first thing I do with a new switch is factory reset it it to zero the link memory out and bring all the option flags to a known state. I'm not sure why you thing adding to the ISY is a magic process that rights wrongs.
  8. the domain name smart home dot com is worth more without the business attached to it. a 9 character easy to remember .com will bring lots of gold... perhaps high 6 or even 7 figures.
  9. If you're not handy with a soldering iron lookup PLM repair on on ebay. He currently charges $55 or or $75 based on whether it gets no power or doesn't communicate.
  10. 2413s only will work with an ISY994 Polisy has more options 2413s, 2413u, or 2448A7 (which is not dual band)
  11. Have you read the Z-wave tips and tricks post yet? It's been linked above. Most of your questions are all answered.
  12. MrBill replied to KHouse's topic in ISY994
This usually indicates that she's trying to operate the wrong device. I'd log into the Alexa app, or actually it's even easier to do if you log into https://alexa.amazon.com and delete all the devices and scenes that exist associated with the ISY, then tell her "Alexa, discover devices" Its not as prevalent anymore, but she used to get duplicates of devices and scenes fairly easily-- one would function and one would not. The remedy was as described in the preceding sentence. The other thing is watch out for similar names she used to say "sorry living room doesn't support that" alot... Took me forever to realize that the device she was referring to was the thermostat, once the thermostat was deleted suddenly she no longer told us the living room lights didn't support that.
  13. No updates to the product via the app stores either. Wes still logs in occasionally. I assume that development has taken a backseat because UD mobile is being actively developed.
  14. That appears to be the case. The partnership news release and products no longer show up on Nokia.com's site.
  15. They don't. California users have reported the offices are empty and unlocked. CEO Rob Lilleness , and other now former executives, have removed Insteon/Smartlabs from their linkedin profile. You'll be able to use it for years to come. In another thread Michel indicated they are trying to get their hands on PLMs from the Chinese producer.
  16. there's also a plethora of open/close sensors (surface mount) on ebay for a slightly better price. (the hidden door sensor is however scarce and commanding higher auction prices on ebay.)
  17. Well I did refer you to the UDI store for the dongle, but i guess I need to LINK IT for you too. If you don't have any z-wave devices now, then buy only 700 series devices from any manufacturer. Stay away from 300/500 series for a brand new network.
  18. I started a twitter thread if anyone with twitter access would like to retweet: https://twitter.com/bkel/status/1515701807288356865
  19. nodelink is similar to node servers, but a different platform that polyglot

  21. I'm a little surprised that NO tech reporters have picked up on it. If you google "Insteon Shut Down" write now the only sources are 1) this forum 2) reddit 3) the home-assistant forum. NOTHING ELSE. Not one tech news organization.
  22. Actually if @lilyoyo1's move date is correct, the move occurred under the old ownership just before the company was acquired by RCP in Jun 2017
  23. I really hope the tech writers of various tech news organizations cover this story. I only kinda know one guy, and I did send him a DM on twitter yesterday. It a familiar story we've all heard before.... cloud servers shutdown, leaving customers in the dark (pun intended).
  24. there's a BUNCH of threads here on the topic, as it relates to the PLM. It's cheap undersized capacitors. Yes they can be replaced DIY if you're good with a soldering iron. Additionally there's a guy on ebay that repairs both Hubs and PLMs. Many are moving to Home Assistant for the same reasons you're suggesting OpenHab, It works with Hubs. Some in this forum have even more than that... I don't count anymore but it's somewhere around 130-150 devices. that's kinda almost average for the active users here. That project appears to have also died. It's been scrubbed from the nokia.com site. Yes the smartlabsinc.com nokia pages still exist, but they aren't linked to from Nokia anymore. This is absolutely correct. I sent a news tip to someone at Fast Company yesterday. I do hope the techworld writers pick up and tell the InsteGone story.
  25. Yes. That is exactly correct. you may also need a short USB extension cord or 90 adapter to be able to to both plugged in on Polisy. I have this issue with my Pi and too many dongles with radios... I choose the ext cord so that I could get them away from other radios... just about doubled my zigbee coverage area because i got the antennae higher and apparently it liked the orientation I started with, but with the extension cord it's also possible to play with orientation.
