  1. Most devices you can pull out the air gap (set button), wait 30 seconds, push the air gap/set button all the way in AND HOLD it in until the long beep finishes or stops... i.e. hold it to the end of the long beep, don't let go when the beep starts. The device should turn on after the reset. I'm not sure which exact model number you have however you can find the full user guide using gogole. "Insteon 2477d manual" changing the model number according. Look for the multi-page full manual and not the quickstart quide. This is really a most unusual case. I suspect it has to do with your wiring and not the toggle linc switch. If the factory reset doesn't work, Turn the breaker off, pull the switch out of the wall. Bypass it, by disconnecting the black and red wires and connecting together the house wires that were connected to black and red. turn the breaker back on, the outside light should be on now. What happens when you turn the floodlight on now?

Polisy... it's the new ISY, which can also run nodesevers. You don't need to Pro version, std will do just fine. Nothing is currently using the features (radio's) the Pro has. https://www.universal-devices.com/store/ scroll down to about the 5th and 6th items. Here's a list of Polyglot2 nodeservers: https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/ polyglot 2 is being replaced with polyglot 3, they don't have a neat way to link the store tho, so far the best list is the forum boards but it changes so fast that list is probably out of date. (once you have a Polisy you get the complete store list from the interface).
  3. and the credentials for the portal, not the ISY.....
  4. and in addition to @Geddy's questions, do you have a portal account? or are you trying to use a direct connection remotely?
  5. @dbwarner5 Try creating a new profile on the "my settings" page of mobilinc (the screen before the "lighting controller" page that you're on above.) unfortunately you will also have to redo the light "lighting controller" screen for the new profile. I've had to do that before and it's a giant mess because then favorites has to be remade but it sounds like you have a corrupt profile.
  6. This sounded like a wiring error until you stated "they are on separate circuits". What happens if when you turn the floodlight on, the light turns off, can you turn the light back on? do the lights on the side of the togglelinc switch say the light is still on? There isn't by chance an old outdoor photocell involved with the light that turns off? Turn the floodlights on and that old photocell thinks its day and turns the light. turn the floodlights off and it's dark again so the light turns back on.
  7. @dbwarner5 that looks like a mobilinc pro screenshot, so it should work. (Mobilinc X you have to pay a surcharge to use the ISY portal instead of mobilinc connect. Your assumption that local port doesn't matter is correct since you don't have local filled in. What happans if you "tap to sync" and pick "download all" on the next dialog box?
  8. Two things: First, follow @Geddy instruction above to use the ISY launcher. It's a new method that been around since 2018 that takes a lot of the quesswork away. Second, Could you link the wiki page you downloaded from. Sometimes there are pages people have book marked that are no longer accurate. I want to read an follow the exact instructions that you followed and see if I can reproduce your experience. You're not the first lately to report that dialog as shown in your screenshot, but you're the first that given exact steps to how they got there.
  9. Where did you get the admin console from? it sounds like you have a mismatched version. If you're actually using the 994 as asked by @lilyoyo1 (I suspect you are since you're seeing a 4.9 available message) then please clear your java cache including installed applications and applets, next delete any files named admin.jnlp or start.jnlp , then install the ISY Launcher which is a newer method to run the admin console. I've linked the thread but essentially all you need to do once java is cleared is click the link https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp then run the downloaded file. The first time start.jnlp is run it will install a desktop icon called "ISY Launcher" which makes it easy to always run the correct version of the admin console. The launcher make it's debut in the summer of 2018 is by far the best .method as it ends confusion.
  10. you need to use the fully qualified URL... https://my.isy.io/isy/{redacted} When you use this URL, you will specify your portal Login and and password as the username and password to the ISY. PS - Don't post your key, no one needs it except you. But it's not a huge security issue, as your credentials are also required to use it.
  11. Once you're up to date, that will work in the future... the functionality is one of the manual updates. I would highly recommend that... support will get you fixed and upgraded fast. UDI's support is amazing, and unmatched anywhere. They answer tickets fast and get you back on track quickly.

    Weather data

as @Techman points out there are numerous weather nodeservers, but unfortunately Polyglot cloud is offline for an extended outage. What used to be the case, is that all you needed was a portal login to use once the number cloud weather nodeservers. What this means now is the you need a Polisy to run nodeservers. As you've discovered the old time weather module went away a long time ago. Perhaps you've been using a cloud nodeserver since? Unfortunately if you have a ISY994, its time for a hardware upgrade. There is a 20% discount right now too. See this post. FYI, you don't need the "pro" version of Polisy.
  13. Not true. it can also be set from the program. I keep all the /send strings simple with just a node name, i.e. /send?node=po_doortr I have multiple Pushover nodes: that each have default Sounds, priority. I have programs that enforce those: ServiceNode.doordc - [ID 01C6][Parent 016D] If 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Device is not all Or 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Priority is not Normal Or 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Format is not HTML Or 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Sound is not Door Open Then Wait 30 seconds Set 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Device all Set 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Priority Normal Set 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Format HTML Set 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Sound Door Open Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Door Check Tally does do 15 second sound overrides at the end of the cycle. ---- In some cases I make the wait to change it back 3 seconds... in other cases 30 seconds such as the example below. In this case the notification that occurs right after the geofence sets away mode will change the default sound for my doorcheck service node (see example below).. in this way I can tell without looking at the phone if all doors are closed. The program used does change the sound back... but programs like the one above ensure the node is always set to the correct defaults for the node: ---- dc16._tally0 - [ID 015E][Parent 015C][Not Enabled] If $iDoorCheck.tally is 0 Then Set 'Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Sound Magic Wait 2 seconds Resource 'NotificationNS.doordc._TallyZero' Wait 10 seconds Set '{hide}Node Servers / Notification Controller / Service Pushover doordc' Sound Door Open Enable Program 'dc00._trigger.0' Else Run Program 'dc16._tally1' (If)
  14. It almost sounds like you're using the portal to find your external IP address and then connecting to the ISY through a forwarded port on your router. You should never need an IP address to access the ISY from outside your local network. First, close the forwarded port, you don't need that. second use the long URL the ISY that @Geddy mentions above: Portal > Select Tool > Information > ISY Information. When using the long URL above your don't use your simple credentials that work when logging in at home, instead use your PORTAL login credentials... even for the admin console. a few wiki pages: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Admin_Console https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_MobiLinc_Configuration I could swear there's an additional wiki with an example of using the long URL but I'm not finding it.
  15. windows or mac? are you using Java 8 from www.java.com or another java?
  16. @asbril is reporting that it worked correctly, he doesn't need to repeat? Left or right.... does this explanation earlier in the thread help?
  17. Only when there's only 1 ISY on the local network, it stops at ISY Finder for multiple ISYs. With with 994 v5.3.4, which did you mean? Many MAC users have better luck with the admin console approach. Most windows users have no problem with launcher.
  18. I misread your post above... to enter X-10 into a program Choose "Send X10" in the first dropdown of a Then or Else action and adjust the remaining House, Unit, and Command that appear when you choose "Send X10"
  19. as long as that works on your network don't worry about the other methods. The problem is not every method works behind every router. usually you find it via a DHCP clients table in your router's interface. Seems like there is a way to find it via the windows "cmd" interface... but the windows command isn't coming to me at the moment and I can't think if I have it book marked somewhere.
  20. Why wouldn't you choose the most current, updated 17 hours ago: https://github.com/automicus/PyISY ??
  21. http 8080 is unencrypted network traffic and is great when you're using the connection on your local wifi network. https 8443 is encrypted network traffic is great for when you're accessing remotely. This method is slightly slower due encryption/decryption. It's more noticeable when using a 994 than a polisy. to use it remotely, it would also require a port forwarding rule on your router....that said, if you're accessing remotely the most secure method is via the portal.
  22. it sounds like you need a rule for traffic in the opposite direction as well.
  23. Help > Purchase Modules. It opens a browser window to the UDI website, but things can be un-intuitive once there. First login via the portal. Next find in the center left side and click "my products", assuming you have a portal account for your ISY you should find it listed on the next page. Click the Modules button on the right end of that line. The next page will show the X10 module which is $9. If your ISY isn't listed in the finder window one of several things could be the problem. The most common are, 1) the ISY obtained an IP address on a different logical network 2) the laptop finder is on has firewall rules blocking finder from finding the ISY 3) You have an advanced router with VLANs that isn't configured correctly. 4) your router doesn't support the method the ISY uses to autofind the ISY. and other less common.... If there is a network path, the ISY can manually be added to the finder window using the add button, the URL for a 994 is http://192.168.XXX.YYY/desc (of course the IP address must be fixed to equal that of the ISY.
  24. while this is also true, what i really had in mind when i said... was FOLDER CONDITIONS. If the folder the program is in, or any folder above it has a negative condition "Run Then" and "Run Else" won't run the programs manually. Since "Run then" worked it doesn't appear to be a folder condition. This now sounds like an intermittent Noise issue.... How old are the devices? are they dual band or single band? There's a number of troubleshooting articles: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#INSTEON_2 the short story tho, is the ISY is doing what the ISY is supposed to be doing, but the signals aren't getting though to remote devices. I had a 2466 switch once get taken out by lightning. It produced constant noise that prevented anything Insteon from working until i figured it out and disconnected the switch. We also once had a countertop deep fryer in the kitchen, if it was plugged in, turned off or turned on, thermostat satisfied Insteon wouldn't work. We lived with that because it was only used for a short time once a week. Other's have reported various tool chargers, fluorescent lights, even some cheap LED bulbs that produce electrical noise. My troubleshooting method is to first suspect anything new. (this wouldn't apply in your case because you've had the problem for a long time. Next, I turn off half the breakers in the panel (ignoring the single circuit that has the ISY, network etc) if the problem goes away, I turn half of the off breakers back on and retest... if it didn't go away I turn that half back on and the other half off. Then retest. Gradually turning batches of breakers back on until i get it down to just one that causes the problem. Once i know that I go explore what's on that circuit... once found you either eliminate the problem or install a noise filter. Some other things to keep in mind about intermittent "noise" problems. think about "what's on" at the time things didn't work. For example, I remember someone that tracked it down to when a bathroom exhaust fan was on. If the front light (for example) always turn on, but never turn off... they themselves might be the problem. They turn on because there's no electrical noise present, but the low voltage transformer running the lights powers up, creating noise, and now the switch can't hear anymore. I've talked mostly about "Noise creators" but there's also "signal suckers".. devices that soak up insteon signals preventing them from reaching a device.
  25. If you have these two buttons on the admin console ribbon then you have Pro: I don't specifically know if it's automatically included with IoP.
