  1. We have friends that are both natives of Puerto Vallarta and friends from group of Ex-pats that live there most of the time (we considered becoming permanent residents with dual citizenship)... they tell us virus control and vaccination level is low.
  2. Correct, I thought you couldn't get rid the of the admin console with busy status bar. for the UUID issue you should open a ticket. support@universal-devices.com
  3. To stop that you'll need to open Task Manager (Ctrl-shift-esc) and kill the java web launcher.
  4. we are likely overdoing the fear level.... but you'd have to know my wife.. But I see her point... Test positive and then hope a hotel has a room for you for 2 more weeks, or whatever it takes... (we typically do AirBnB's, which will have another guest booked as soon as we leave). Then phone the Dog camp back home and tell them the dogs will be there much much longer....
  5. click button A in admin console then right click it and choose "Group Devices"
  6. Was on 5.1.1, choose automatically upgrade. waited much longer than 30 seconds (got sidetracked), finder didn't find it. Rebooted polisy... waited much longer than a few minutes (sidetracted again), finder still doesn't find it. Tried to manually add http://192.168.1.89:8080/desc , Not found. -------------- Edit: sudo pkg update && sudo pkg upgrade and sudo service isy restart solved...
  7. @Michel Kohanim that's great news!! This just caused me to remember that one can use multiple instances of the Universal-devices intergration with a single HA installation. I'll try it later...
  8. @Rob's heavily integrated with Home Assistant tho, so we need to find out if there's any HA hickups before he does.
  9. my wife and I haven't scheduled mexico yet, we want to and we are both fully vaccinated, but the thought of having to be tested to come home is keeping us from scheduling.... we also know a few locals and ex-pats in Puerto Vallarta and we get reports that the level of virus spread is much greater than the tourist websites are reporting....
  10. In another thread yesterday someone compared Filet Mignon and Hamburger solutions. In that thread, the ISY being Filet Mignon and Google Home being the Hamburger. That's a good way to think about it. But I'll add in this case you also have to consider that the ISY gives you the building blocks to build the EXACT solution you want. Sure you have to learn how to stack those building blocks, or ask in the forum for help with something like this one that's a little more complex. Sure it would be great if you could say "Hey ISY... Send me a notification for humidity below 40% every 6 hours until it's not" BUT... Google home or Alexa can't do that either.... those platforms might be able to accomplish parts of it, but none of them give you the building blocks to give you Exactly what you asked for. ISY does.... these also aren't really complex programs, but they are interlocking programs that need each other to provide the EXACT solution that you asked for.
  11. now you're talking about your reply in the other thread! lol... although i did borrow the Tropical beverage from that one to use in this one...
  12. Have you already had too many tropical beverages today? I'm not sure I can parse that question... the empty boxes in the box gallery?
  13. I don't think it's been tested yet. @shbatm and @bdraco maintain the Universal-devices HA integration. There should not be alot of work to do to make it HA compatible. It may work now, but may need to have the ISY on Polisy url manually entered into the integration. It's been months but, in an unrelated chat, I mentioned to @shbatm that ISY on Polisy was moving forward and he told me he as a Polisy that's still in the box, but that's good news because he won't need to acquire hardware. Personally, I won't move off 994 until either the HA integration works for sure or @shbatm communicates that he wants me to move my larger installation over because he needs me to test with a large installation. Probably, but we won't really know until the RA3 nodeserver exists.... I thought about doing that... unfortunately I also decided I didn't want the liability. Say Person X sends a PLM that they think needs re-capped... I open it up and the entire board was smoked by lightning instead... they blame me. Person Y sends a PLM and I break the housing opening it up... they blame me, no parts avaialble. Person Z sends me a PLM and it's not even a 2413s, it's some version of some X10 controller that worked with windows 10, I tell them it's not a 2413s they sent, and they say YES YES IT WAS GIVE ME MY 2413S back..... sure... business insurance would cover me, but if I had to buy business insurance to repair PLMs for users then PLM repair would likely no longer be affordable. Why do you doubt the daughterboard swap?
  14. I've sold most, but I do have a box gallery. (Empty iPhone boxes) I also have a box of cube chargers, lighting cables and ear buds... I get why they aren't including those anymore. I also have iPhone 3g... I can still use it for a couple of games and browsing (although many modern websites no longer like antique Safari or Chrome)... it seems so small!!
  15. its value is pretty limited. I put mine in my spares drawer, but i doubt it will ever be used. I don't think having someone start out with a 300 is advantageous to them.
  16. Polisy is designed for 2 main processes... Running "Polyglot" and running "ISY on Polisy" Polyglot 2 has been available for several years. Polyglot 3 is also in the coming soon/testing stage. Polyglot 2 allows you to run nodeservers. Nodeservers allow you to add device or online service not native to the ISY to the ISY as long as a developer has created a polyglot nodeserver for the device or service. Here is a link to the nodeserers currently available: https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/ (note that link will also appears inside the polisy interface in the "store", don't bother downloading repositories from my link here, just look... when you want to install one you'll go to this same list inside the store-- yes, someone did that and PM'd me with what to do next, there's always a reason for the warning sticker--someone did it....) There are also a limited selection of nodeservers available via the polyglot cloud... log into https://my.isy.io and click "open polyglot" in the upper right corner. (UDI Portal subscription required to make cloud nodeservers work.) Cloud nodesevers don't need local hardware or local network access. Polyglot 2/3 nodeservers require local hardware and local network access. Polyglot creates nodes on the ISY, that's why it needs one...
  17. it's looking for whatever ISY you're using.... likely a 994 ISY on Polisy is still in early alpha testing stages and doesn't automatically run on Polisy.
  18. A trick that's been discovered is that you can open up a dead serial and good USB PLM and swap the daughter boards. No soldering required. If you can solder or know someone that can it's also fairly easy to repair the serial PLMs. Personally I'd wait on moving ISY to Polisy until more of the bugs have been chased. You can do it today, and a few already have. Yes, personally I'd recommend a factory reset, after removing from one ISY and adding to the other. At this point It's a slow manual process, I'd wait and find out the if there's a better migration plan to come. there is after all no rush. Save a few bucks. buy the regular polisy... the wifi interface is pointless, and the bluetooth interface isn't yet implemented and there is nothing specific on the roadmap to be excited about that needs pro. Dump Mobilinc X (it's been well over a year since it was updated), switch the ISY portal, use UD mobile. Most everything you've asked is covered in multiple threads...
  19. The temp spec may or may not be real.... I use several devices outside that technically aren't made for the conditions that I put them in. The short z-wave range of the ISY controller is a well know fact tho. Another known fact is that standing it up on it's end makes to reorient the antenna helps too.... But you didn't read the Z-wave tips and tricks post byt @lilyoyo1 than I linked above anyway. Do you still have the packing? are you still in your Amazon return window? you should probably just pack everything up and send it back!
  20. Welcome back Steve Lee... I guess I now know where you landed.... ?
  21. They aren't listed on smarthome anymore. With dual band devices they aren't really needed. All my switches are dual band now and I have no communication problems. Are you sure.... you also have an open thread about using repeat loop band aids....
  22. Yea, I left them for clarity (and because I'm lazy and didn't want to redo them all---it's easier to just copy and paste ?) Like you tho, I would remove them.
  23. About 40 feet as the distance to the first z-wave device is probably too far by about 8 times.. From what I've read in this forum 5 feet or less to the first z-wave device is preferable. Good luck with whatever choices you make!!
  24. At first I didn't think your method would work... but after trying values in my head for awhile, it might actually.... I'd write it with positive rather than Not (or negative) logic tho... If ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 11 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 4 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 4 ) Or ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 9 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 1 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 1 ) Or ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 5 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 5 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 1 ) OR ( $iISY.MMDD is 1.01 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is 7.04 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is 12.25 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is 11.01 ) Then $iException Init To 1 $iException = 1 Else $iException Init To 0 $iException = 0 Note that I also removed the Time the program runs from the top of the If statement, that's because we don't actually need it. (being able to remove it make the parenthesis easier too, which is how you likely got caught up in using negative logic. So how do we get the program to Run? Two options to choose from: Run it as the last statement of the Set Date Variable program --or-- Note that the last variable set in the Set Date Variable setting program is $sISY.MMDD = $iISY.Date_Scratchpad which is a State variable. (since it's the LAST state variable set by the program, the change to the value indicates to the ISY that all the other values above it have already been set for today. We would only want to use this method if the last thing the program did was set a State variable AND the value of that variable state changed (each time the program ran). Either of these are great options. So to talk thru the first option, we would probably Disable the Date Exception program, although since it's all integer variables, it would never run on its own. The key to "disabling a program" is that it only disables the IF statement from automatically triggering the program.... A disabled program will still run if it's called by another program... So to implement this we would add the statement: Run Program 'Exception Checker' (if) as the last line to the Set Date Variables program. Then we would right click and the Exception Checker in the tree and select Disable. It will still run everyday because it's being called as the last thing done by Set Date Variables. Talking thru the second option. Lets make one tiny change to the exception checker: If ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 11 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 4 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 4 ) Or ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 9 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 1 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 1 ) Or ( $iISY.MonthOfYear is 5 And $iISY.WeekOfMonth is 5 And $iISY.DayOfWeek is 1 ) OR ( $sISY.MMDD is 1.01 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is 7.04 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is 12.25 ) Or ( $iISY.MMDD is not 11.01 ) Then $iException Init To 1 $iException = 1 Else $iException Init To 0 $iException = 0 Note the RED line, it's the ONLY thing I changed from above. Since I changed one single variable to the State Variable this program will now run EVERYTIME that value Changes. So everytime the Set Date Variables program changes that value, which is a value that does change daily, it will cause this program to fire and the entire IF will be evaluated, even tho all the other variables are integer. What would I do? If I used the second method I would reorder the OR's to chronological as the "exceptions" occur during the year. That readability change would put $sISY.MMDD is 1.01 at the top, and it's easy to spot the "trigger" variable. What I would actually do tho is use the first method, disable the Exception Checker program, add a comment to it that it's "run by Set Date Variables" and then add Run Program 'Exception Checker' (if) to the end of the Set Date Variables program. I only included option 2 as a teaching tool about state variables, but it is a valid option. ----- A note on disabling programs: As you learn more about writing ISY programs you will find many uses for disabled programs. Disabled is actually a tool for when programs run, it's not just a feature that was included for testing. Another user or two were having trouble with disabled programs becoming enabled tho, so i took that as a queue.... I now have a program called "Disabled-intentionally" that has the run as startup attribute set Disabled-Intentionally - [ID 013A][Parent 0001][Run At Startup] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Disable Program 'SetpointAdjust-DNchevron' Disable Program 'SetpointAdjust-UPchevron' (abridged for posting..... every program intentionally disabled is listed) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') So every time the ISY is rebooted this program runs and makes certain things that are supposed to be disabled actually are disabled.
  25. So what are the error log entries associated with the failures... please feel free to copy and paste!
