  1. I think I know the answer to this first question, but want to be doubly sure. If Program A expressly calls for Program B to run, will Program B run even if not "enabled"? I think the answer is yes. Then, can Program A's call for Program B be either to "Run If" or "Run Then" and have Program B execute?
  2. Really smart idea. I think I will follow your suggestion ! Thanks.
  3. Thanks Goose. That is helpful. Part of what drove me to separate them was a debugging ability to disable the follow on. I do not mind more programs, appropriately linked.
  4. I am working on a program with, as for now, several programs, the earlier of which call the next. In at least one instance, the follow on program "could" just be added to the one before as an a ELSE path. What are the considerations here?
  5. The long range of the Lora that Uplink offers has enabled real time temp monitoring from my cherry orchard, including temperature based calculations of critical importance... From about 1000 feet away... Not completely open air. Priceless.
  6. I, like you only discovered Yolink. I am very enthisiastic. I am watching closely as they add more "action" devices. It really has added increased functionality to my system. On my wish list is a door/window sensor with external contacts connectors in something besides combat, all weather black
  7. Panda88, your Nodeserver for Yolink is a fabulous gift. Thank you . Also, I am presently exploring the nuances of YoLink devices and possible "hacked" (not truly hacked) other uses. Your noting that the Siren module essentially is a programmable power output device is golden information. Keep those nuggets coming, please.... and again my gratitude. Chris
  8. I will post it in the coffee shop in the near future.
  9. Thanks Pauland Panda88. I had initially used Paul's advice and was able to add 1 message. then using both Paul and Panda88's comments on the number of messages config, I was able to add more, you both solved this one, Thanks. For those of you who do not know, Paul is considered a guru on HA from the diy days of X-10 going back 30-40 years. He's seen it all.
  10. I have come up with a water leak turn off off solution. hardware and software, utilizing Yolink, for about $150 or less. If there is any interest I can post it in pics etc...includes a no-power solution and notifications.
  11. Thanks Paul. I will give that a try. I looked in config but comehow that didn't seem to suggest the answer. (Almost as much fun as out early X-10 days, no?) I am blown away by the Yolink stuff.... I have a temp sensor reporting orchard temperatures from truly 1/4 mile away!
  12. I know how to get a custom voice message into YoLink via the Yolink app but am curious, when I bring it up in the node server, I get the screen show in the clip below. Where are the messages for this listed/created/stored? I'd like to be able to use this in my eisy programming.
  13. Thanks Auger66 !! For my situation, that solved the problem. Made the change then did the reinstall etc and now so have F.
  14. I realize that the Node developer is not responsible for Yolink issues, and this might be one. But, I got my new Yolink outdoor temperature sensor today and placed it about 1000 feet away in an orchard I never had real time monitoring in. Could not be happier. In the YoLink app it displays temperatures in Farenheit, but in the plug in it displays temps in Centigrade. Nothing I can figure out changes anything. Is there a way to make this consistently F?
  15. Thanks all, especially to Panda88. I followed his advice and everything worked just fine. Landolfi, we both did the same thing apparently. "Advanced settings" did not appear to be a mandatory step... as they often aren't. Here, at least that part of them is.
  16. Okay, cold rebooted the Yolink hub, reinstalled the nodeserver, restarted the AC, same result. Panda88, I also do not show any orphan devices in my device tree that match up with the named missing Yolink devices. What action shall I take to create the needed debug file?
  17. I had done that, restarted, reinstalled, rebooted everything (well except the Yolink hub) without success. I find it curious that the node is entitled Yolink setup. I think I will unplug the Yolink hub and see what that produces. Had not contemplated that. Will report back. Thanks for the immediate response. Chris
  18. As the title says I a a new Yolink user, puchased with the intent of linking to my EISY via PG3X. I installed and set up my Yolink hub with ethernet, and installed a couple of different sensors as test case devices. I purchased the Yolink nodeserver in the PG3X store and rebooted everything. I do get a node for Yolink: But this is as far as it goes. I struggled a tiny bit with Wireless Tags in the nodeserver install and realized I had not run "discover". I do not see something similar here. Am I missing something obvious?
  19. Thanks both. Both excellent replies and solutions. My problem was that I was fixated on the right hand program pane, not the left hand program listing pane, where the solution was rather, shall we say, obvious. Thanks for the sage advice both of you.
  20. In some of my programming I would like to copy the contents of, say, then "then" portion of a program to another program. I do not seem to be able to do that, or maybe I am just not getting it. Can that be done? If so how? If not, that would seem to be a good addition. Chris
  21. I will admit I am not fully up to speed on this yet, but it seems to offer great possibilities. Like many here, one of the obstacles to our hobby is a doubting spouse who wonders why we spend so much time at the computer and with open wiring in the house. [I am an old X-10 junkie who migrated (logically I think) to ISY and UD. about 8 years ago.] A story about HA that my wife likes to tell the results of, and misses...goes like this: Backstory: I had interacted with another geeky guy on the X-10 side of the house on using spoken commands and voice... LONG before Alexa and Google. I came up with a way to tell the computer ("Mike" as my wife and I called him... who spoke using a British AT&T voice) to set the time for a wake up alarm. I had a small electronic module that I could control using X-10 that would trigger and play a 30 second WAV file through a small on board speaker, placed near the bed. I put the theme song for the "Jetson's" on it. So at X am, we would awaken to the Jetson's music! At first my wife thought it was nuts, but she grew to like it and to this day says that is what she misses most about my initial HA forays. The Jetson's theme song! I am hoping there is a way to repeat this maybe using Audio player and Alexa. Love to hear ideas. Chris ps. A solution to let me surprise her on Valentine's day gets extra bonus points Pps. I know Alexa will play music as an alarm but it is their music and not a wav or mp3 file you can create or edit to length.
  22. I have not tried using IR codes and X10, but in general would have to say that if you you do anything in X10 that generates an house/unit code output, you can get it into ISY/eisy.
  23. As I am working through the final stages of installing my new ISY, I discovered that somehow I inadvertently deleted the Notification Server" item in the AC tree. How can I get that back?
  24. I was looking online and saw that there are no more of these. Using the XTB 523 in the attic with the V572, and my XTB-RII in in the basement at the circuit breaker box there it has its own dedicated breaker. Not sure what I will/would use its unused 523 port for now.
