  1. Geddy's post in IP address change, how to update in Polisy? was marked as the answer
@PeterP you'll probably need to tell the plugin where to find the Hue hub.
In the configuration area add a custom parameter: bridges
Then the IP should be in this format: ["10.0.1.1","10.0.2.1"]
Be sure you include the brackets [ ] and the quotes around the IP addresses of the bridges!
    From the plugin setup information:

Since the plugin isn't looking for the hub to move you've got to tell it where to look and perhaps re-link it. To re-link just restart the plugin then press the top button on the Hue Hub within a few moments of pressing restart (if you have the old style hue hub it should only one button - I think. I don't have new hubs and haven't looked at them to see if they're different).
  2. Geddy's post in Problem writing extended commands to 2442-222 was marked as the answer
This is a longstanding "bug" (UI difference) that started in IoX 5.x many years ago. After you set the percent you need to hit the button NEXT to that value. This goes for most the options like on level, ramp rate, and backlight. Write changes is not doing what you think it should (I think it's mostly for battery devices). I don't ever click "write changes".

There's also a UI issue that sometimes might not always show what the level you have set will be. That usually is for the backlight setting though (if I recall correctly).
Also, please update your system. It will help keep things current and fix any unexpected issues otherwise. See the information in the current release area: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/46475-updated-software-available/

  3. Geddy's post in UD Mobile Suggestion to Open to Favorites was marked as the answer
    https://wiki.universal-devices.com/UD_Mobile#Show_Favorites_at_launch
This used to be available. I'm not sure if Android is different now or not. I guess Apple doesn't work like it once did, but I just checked and the part that is crossed out saying deprecated did work (iOS 26.4.2 / UD Mobile 1.4.23) and would launch me to favorites. I haven't tried the shortcut method mentioned in the wiki.
I 100% wish this was possible. And to have them setup their own favorite screen so things would just be a big remote and just have tiles to press to turn things on/off.
  4. Geddy's post in Trying out zigbee was marked as the answer
I've never tried adding a hue bulb via Zigbee, but I've had other devices that I have removed successfully.

If you right click on the device does it offer a Zigbee menu item with a > next to it? Click that and then choose "Remove from Zigbee Network". Then right click the device again and select "Delete". Then be sure you reset the bulb (turn it on/off 5 or 6 times - used to it was like on for 8 seconds, off for 2 seconds each time). The bulb should flash when reset is successful. Then I'd reboot the eisy (maybe just reload IoX admin console first, but a reboot should also clear things up).
I think somebody else had posted some information about how to control colors for directly connected bulbs. Again, since I haven't done that I haven't kept up with that information. I prefer to keep the Hue Hub running and use the plugin to bring the bulbs into the IoX world. I don't change colors of my lights so not something I fiddle with.

  5. Geddy's post in can not start ISY-994i on a desk top was marked as the answer
@HBoley welcome to the UD Forums.
For this issue you'll need to clear your Java cache and download a new start.jnlp from the UD site (near the top of the site click on "My ISY" and save the start.jnlp file). Otherwise you can also download the admin.jnlp file directly from the ISY994 device (http://<ISY-IP-ADDRESS>/admin.jnlp - remove the <> and use the IP of your device).
When you clear the java cache be sure you select all 3 boxes!

What computer OS are you using?
  6. Geddy's post in Scene tree view not showing, can't remove device? was marked as the answer
@ferventgeek what computer OS are you running? I think I've seen people talk about this on macOS in the past. Looks like it's just a UI issue. Are you sure there are things in those scenes? Maybe add something to one to test and see if it adds a plus. Empty scenes will show up without anything to expand.
If you select the scene try pressing the plus sign on your keyboard (if you have a separate number pad on the keyboard). Or try using the right arrow to get the scene to expand.
While I doubt this was a "bug" in 6.0.4 there is an update to 6.0.5 that I would probably suggest updating to first just to be sure that's not an issue. Next be sure to clear java cache (checking all 3 boxes) then downloading a new start.jnlp from UD's site (on their home page click "My ISY" and save start.jnlp).
I would be sure you're using the local sign on just in case there is a ui bug when using the cloud or portal login. Although I tried all options of mine (while local) and the scenes always appear with a plus (if there is something in them).
One other thing I might suggest is looking for the UD State files in the temp directory (Reference: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Main_Page#Admin_Console_Minimized/Invisible_and_Cannot_be_Restored). It doesn't hurt anything to remove them all, but specifically remove the udi_tree.state file for this issue. Make sure admin console is closed when you remove these files. Then clear the Java cache and download a fresh start.jnlp file again. (It's a good idea to remove any old admin.jnlp and start.jnlp files after they are used in case UD makes modifications to the files in the future you always want to get a fresh file from their site.)
  7. Geddy's post in can't delete emails customizations was marked as the answer
@JLevy02 welcome to the UD forums. Looks like might be a known issue. Take a look at this recent post for a work around.
  8. Geddy's post in My Zwave dongle stopped working was marked as the answer
@jkraus try a power cycle on the device. Unplug the device. While unplugged I would remove and reinsert the dongle to confirm good connection in the USB port. Plug the device back in. Wait 3-5 minutes for it to fully boot. Then log back into what you're using to see "not responding".
Or you can try "reboot" from the web ui (http://polisy.local/system/upgrade - or replace "polisy.local" with the ip address of your system). If you're running 6.0.4 it's at the bottom of the screen). If you are running java admin console try the reboot button on the configuration tab.
If a power cycle does not work then please open a support ticket with UD to get further assistance.

  9. Geddy's post in Nodes not showing was marked as the answer
Yes. That's what I've seen mentioned elsewhere. I don't recall anything official from UD being mentioned about this, but it comes from a few posts about "fixing" things in a few support tickets. Mostly with a few plugins that use the 3000 port and others that require specific logins from the plugins. I would assume as eisy-ui gets further along in development somebody from UD will put this in writing (and hopefully in the wiki).
  10. Geddy's post in Two devices turn on but don't shut off in scene was marked as the answer
That's good. Then it's probably how Alexa handles scenes. I don't have many scenes and don't expose them to Alexa so can't help. From what you were describing was sounding more like a scene wasn't setup correctly. Has this always happened or is it a recent issue?
What if you add the scene, but in the "Alexa Category" make it a switch (or device)? I have a few 2-way switches that are scenes and have them in the portal as a scene, but "Alexa Category" is "Device". When I turn "Stairs" on both on/off switches show as on.
  11. Geddy's post in INSTEON 6-Button reconnect was marked as the answer
    @aguden take a look here - https://wiki.universal-devices.com/ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Linking_a_KeypadLinc
However, if some of the buttons are there you might be able to right click the main node for the keypad and select "restore device".
When you say you lost connection with all the switches what happened? Did you remove the PLM or replace the PLM? There's a process to restore the PLM that might have brought things back, but if you have everything working except for this one device not sure what you had happen.

  12. Geddy's post in Moving from 994i/ Mobilinc HD to eisy/UD Mobile was marked as the answer
Mobilinc HD still works just fine with Insteon devices and the eisy. I use it (rarely). I have it on the iphone and know exactly what you mean by being able to sort by name or on/off status. I've set mine up to use through the portal access just as I always had it with the ISY994.
The only things I miss by using Moblinc are devices added by plugins.
To me Moblinc HD/Pro has/had much better UI for layout. However, UD Mobile has been good the newer things being added with z-wave, zigbee, and plugins. I just don't have much use for those so haven't spend the time learning/transfreing to UD Mobile like others have.
I'm using Mobilinc v4.17 on iphone iOS26.2 without issue.
The "old" Moblinc Connect option is what broke when UD came out with the Polisy/eisy lines.
  13. Geddy's post in Can't access eisy.ui after upgrading EISY was marked as the answer
@stillwater Since the IoX finder window seems to indicate the device is updated to 6.0.4 it's possible you need to perform another reboot/power cycle to the device to bring things up again.
Are you able to get information if you browse to this page: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt (If you get a security message click advanced and click continue to site - it's local so it's fine to access)
If after a power cycle you're still unable to get eisy UI to come up at https://eisy.local/ then I would suggest opening a support ticket before you go any further. Certainly don't get into SSH and run any random commands. During this time of development it helps UD more if users file support tickets before random attempts of repair that might make things worse. It helps them learn what happened to a system, but is also easier for them to correct what has happened to this point.
Open a support ticket here: https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets
Where will it show as "ISY"? On mine the "Name" is my personalized name given to the top item in the node tree and "Type" shows as "eisy".
What's the result when you got to https://eisy.local/?
  14. Geddy's post in Should I migrate from Hubitat to Eisy? was marked as the answer
@TomNow2 I'm in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" camp. Aside from some issues (with z-wave in general) it sounds like things work as you have them setup. There's been a lot of comments through the last several years (and most recently in this thread) that z-wave (by nature) has a "popcorn effect". Meaning what you're experiencing seems to be normal for z-wave in lighting. Changing the controller wouldn't help the nature of z-wave and the inherent issues it has with lighting delays.
Initially I'd say just leave it as it is. It's a vacation home and you don't seem to need to mess/fiddle with it how it currently is controlled.
The other side of that would be that the investment to change the switches and other automation parts to other devices might outweigh the issues you're currently having, but living with. Sure, you could rip everything out and put in Insteon (for lighting) and have better control of on/off and dimming than what z-wave does, but you would also have a different controller that is going through ongoing development and updates that you'd need to push/update when you got to the vacation property.
If the issues you're having are bothersome and you want to fix those then you'd more than likely have to remove all z-wave lighting control and go with a different option. If it's a DYI project then Insteon is probably the best option for that kind of job. Otherwise, there are still different options to consider (see referenced thread linked above). Just changing the controller for the issues you describe won't make things better.
Note: I don't know the Hubitat system so can't comment on what it can/can't do. I tried Home Assistant a few years ago and was not impressed (too much learning curve at the time) so can't say if that would be beneficial to use differently.
  15. Geddy's post in eisy Program doesn't turn scenes on or off now was marked as the answer
@mvgossman please let us know what firmware you are using on the ISY994.
It could be that you updated from 4.x to 5.x and the scenes changed and are not setup correctly to be controlled by the ISY device.
Also, you might want to put a 1-2 second wait between commands (maybe more) so that communication is not over loaded.
Lastly, for easy of assistance the preferred way to post a program to the forums is to right click on the program and select "COPY to Clipboard" then paste as text into your post. This makes it easy if people need to help edit the program by not having to type or describe things that are in an image.

  16. Geddy's post in Insteon device window always comes up as New was marked as the answer
@raymondjiii This is similar to an issue that was in another post over a month ago. Make sure you've updated recently. Since UD isn't posting release announcements I'm not sure if they've updated again, but the last time I updated it installed 6.0.4_1
You can find what you're running on a web browser: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt (click advanced and continue if you get a security/connection warning).
Also, you can apparently see on eisy_ui if there are updates available (I'm not sure as I haven't used that ui much).
However, the fix in the past post was simply a power cycle of the eisy.

  17. Geddy's post in ISY994 issues after four year hiatus. was marked as the answer
@Bill S as @Techman suggests please clear your java cache. Your images show your Firmware and UI do not match

DO NOT upgrade to 5.3.4 unless your system meets the requirements for that. Since you're running Z-Wave and your device is old (you claim from 2001) then you probably have the old Z-wave board in it (unless you updated it somewhere along the way). You can find on the forums how to determine which board you have. I think it's in a post from @lilyoyo1 .
I'm not sure why/how you have a backup with 5.3.4 in the name when your firmware is 5.0.16. Did you have a different device at one time in the past that might have been a higher firmware than the device you're using now?
In the future please post images inline and not in a document file. Sometimes people will not download such files. Images are best used when posted directly in the message (as the image above). Having to download a file then open and review it takes time and puts unnecessary files on other user computers.
  18. Geddy's post in Insteon Controller Scheduling was marked as the answer
@FloridaGary I am not sure how much programming has advanced on UD Mobile, but it didn't used to be all that easy. Simple solution would be to use admin console to make a program. Maybe post your screen shots that you see.
Have you attempted to add/make a new program? Look at the "My Programs" under Automations then click the "+" on top right. Should give you the option for "New Program". It takes a while to spin and then comes up with the program appearance. Add you conditions (Time shows "error" until you make a selection). The "THEN" action will be "Command". Here you select your device and what you want it to do.
After you complete it be sure to "Save" (top right). Then go back to main screen and sync (just to be sure it's written to the Polisy IoX). I think "My Schedules" would work the same, but I went down the "My Programs" side just now.
  19. Geddy's post in Lightning strike was marked as the answer
@skydvrz you should contact UD directly via their site: https://www.universal-devices.com/contact-us/
While UD does sometimes monitor the forums questions like this are best asked directly by contacting them using the information found on their site.
Good luck recovering from the hit! Hope there wasn't further damage to your property.
  20. Geddy's post in IoX restore from backup fails was marked as the answer
For the issue of not being able to restore from a backup I would suggest you open a support ticket with UD to get help on the situation. There might be something that went wrong in an update that is not allowing the restore to properly complete.
    https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets
What computer OS are you using? And what UI are you talking about? If on Windows and Admin Console you should be able to remain logged in quite a while. As far as I know there are no timeouts that UD implemented. Many say they leave their admin console up for hours/days without issue. Of course the admin console is not designed to be up 24/7, but some attempt this (I have no idea why). How quickly is your session timing out? It could be system or network related. Be sure you are not running any VPN or Anti-virus services. Also make sure you're on a stable network connection. When you have a support ticket about restoring the backup as them if there's a way to see why you are timing out of admin console if that's the UI you're speaking of.

  21. Geddy's post in ran upgrade, left over night, next day reboot - DOA was marked as the answer
@awysocki when you're rebooting how are you achieving this?
I would suggest you open a support ticket with UD. I know they're working on updates to the eisy-UI and other updates in the system so it might be best not to randomly try things, but to get UD on a ticket with this so they can see/verify the logs and see what happened to help them troubleshoot the release so more people don't have issues.
    https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets
You've got a few things working against you in that the java admin console window isn't designed to be up 24/7 so just leaving it up all night if the computer went into hibernation or sleep state it could have been an issue and even though you had a message didn't properly reboot the eisy. Not sure what's happening in the reboot you've been doing now, but if you have it connected locally then it should be mostly coming up. I would think UD would have the best indication as to what needs to happen to get it fully operational again.

  22. Geddy's post in Variables not Changing after update to 5.9.1 was marked as the answer
@CoolToys have you performed a full power cycle on the eisy? Rather than just the reboot following the update it might need a full power cycle just to "catch up" or at least trigger things correctly. I would shut it down (6 button presses or press and hold), actually pull the power cord, wait 10 seconds (random amount of time), plug it back in, and power it up (i forget if it turns on automatically or not).
Your programs are executing exactly at "x" time. Do you have many other things triggered at the same time? Even though it has "worked for years" (famous phrase among many of us), it's possible that there could be a lot of communicating at the same time and something is missed. Shifting something just a few seconds might help.
  23. Geddy's post in NEW....Hue Bridge Pro (New Black Unit) was marked as the answer
Seeing that the hue plugin was developed on unofficial api (based on previous posts about this plugin) and hasn't been updated in a while (years?)...I would hazard a guess that the "pro" hub is not supported. If you tried all the usual tricks and still cannot get it to connect, it might not be using the same methods that the plugin is using to identify and communicate allowing successful connection.
Fun that there's a new hub for hue.
  24. Geddy's post in Migration from ISY994i to EISY was marked as the answer
Did you restore the backup file you made? That's what pulls in the devices and programs.
    (Source:  https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Eisy:User_Guide#Migrating - Step 5)
What you're describing seems that you missed the step to restore the backup and went to a process of restoring the PLM, but that's not going to bring the devices in.
Once you restore the backup you should review your programs. If you have any network resources you'll need to open each one and save them. (Also from the wiki - "during migration": "Network Resources
All Network Resources will be migrated seamlessly, however, you will need to open and save each one individually."

  25. Geddy's post in Unmanaged plugins after upgrade was marked as the answer
@SHM did you follow the directions in the wiki to migrate the plugins?
    https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Eisy:User_Guide#Migrating_Node_Servers_to_PG3x
I'm not sure if this is still possible, but that's the last the wiki mentioned how to move them from Polisy to eisy.
When plugins show "unmanaged" in the dashboard it means they are being managed by another device. If you have everything that was installed on the Polisy showing on the eisy now make sure you start them (if possible). If not you might need to open a support ticket with UD to see how to get things sorted/moved.
