Mike Ippolito Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 UD Team, I'm happy to see in 4.0.1 that we can start to get some functionality around comparing thermostat temperatures. I'm still waiting for the day I can truly compare by using variables & math. A room drops temperature faster than others. I have a battery powered 2Gig CT100 in there just to report temp. I'd just like to compare and trigger if it drops below a certain delta to other rooms. I've got a fix for it during heating season but it's a bit clunky. If Status 'Thermostats / Amanda's Thermostat' is 62° (Temperature ) Or Status 'Thermostats / Amanda's Thermostat' is 61° (Temperature ) Or Status 'Thermostats / Amanda's Thermostat' is 60° (Temperature ) Or Status 'Thermostats / Amanda's Thermostat' is 63° (Temperature ) And ( Status 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' is 65° (Temperature ) Or Status 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' is 66° (Temperature ) Or Status 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' is 67° (Temperature ) ) And $Kids_Here is not 0 And From 11:00:00PM To 5:00:00AM (next day) Then Set 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' 68° (Heat Setpoint) Wait 30 minutes Set 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' 65° (Heat Setpoint) Set 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' Fan On Wait 5 minutes Set 'Thermostats / Third Floor Thermostat' Fan Auto Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Would love to be able to just check the delta rather than specific temp readings.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Hello mikeiud, Already in our plans! Thanks so very much for the feedback and suggestion. With kind regards, Michel
KenN Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Well this is timely! I've just spent an evening trying to figure out how to read a stat's setting and push it into a variable, and I'll ultimately also need to do it the other way around. This is key to my plans for a heating management system for the house, as I have a 6-zone hydronic heating system and want to monitor open/close status for doors that separate the zones, and align the setpoints for stats in zones that have an open door between.
Yersu Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Ditto I'd like to have a house-fan turn on when it is nicer outside than inside. Any availability estimate for this enhancement?
Michel Kohanim Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Hi Yersu, After the false estimates on Z-Wave, I am quite worried about giving any estimates. This said, we are working on it as we speak. With kind regards, Michel
