robinasu Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Hi all, I just picked up eKeyboard and enabled internet access on my 994i PRO. The admin console suggests to request a new cert, but after I click the button, nothing happens. So far, eKeyboard is working on cellular with my ISP's fixed IP address. Although, when I turn off my phone wifi it breaks. I think I have a couple problems. I found this pdf: http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/I ... 0Guide.pdf I tried to load the dashboard as instructed in the pdf, but the link fails. I verified that I have the correct version number in the link, which is the latest version. I also replaced the URL with my 994's statip IP and received this message: /99i/3.3.10/dashboard.jnlp not found How do I access the dashboard to adjust the certificate settings? Why won't anything happen in the admin panel when I click to manage certificates? How can I make eKeyboard work with both cellular and wifi networks? I have a Mac. Thanks, Rob
robinasu Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 I should also add: I am using Firefox and the lastest Java7. I am using a wired local network, too.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Hello robinasu, Sincere apologies: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/dashboard.jnlp In short, the Dashboard is not installed on ISY but is downloaded from our website. With kind regards, Michel
homejones Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Hi Michel, I'll try this when I get back home later this week, but I ran into the same exact issues last night. I updated Java on my Mac to 1.7.15, upgraded firmware on my ISY994 to 3.3.10, but had a lot of problems getting things to work. I finally got the dashboard installed, but still get an error when I click on the JNLP file on my desktop (invalid URL). I finally got the dashboard to work, the error persists, but there are no certificates on my Mac or on the ISY as noted in the PDF.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Hi homejones, Please do let me know as I cannot reproduce at all. With kind regards, Michel
robinasu Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Have you guys thought about an iPad app? I think it would be awesome!
homejones Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hi homejones, Please do let me know as I cannot reproduce at all. With kind regards, Michel Will do when I'm back home this week.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hello robinasu, Have you guys thought about an iPad app? I think it would be awesome! And do we force everyone to buy an iPad? With kind regards, Michel
robinasu Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Hello robinasu, Have you guys thought about an iPad app? I think it would be awesome! And do we force everyone to buy an iPad? With kind regards, Michel I see your point. Plus, an app from you would put pressure on your ecosystem. By the way, I love the 994. It's done everything I need. I just wonder if Java if getting a little long in the tooth. Maybe a pure browser based solution would lower your overhead in the long term. On the side: I was trying to remove multiple devices from a scene last night and the applet froze on several attempts. I had t o force quit using my mac several times. Everything was fine when I removed the devices one by one.
G W Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hello robinasu, Have you guys thought about an iPad app? I think it would be awesome! And do we force everyone to buy an iPad? With kind regards, Michel Heck no. Force them to buy an Android. (just kidding)
Michel Kohanim Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hi robinasu, First of all, removing multiple devices and hang is not normal. Do you remember whether or not ISY was still trying to remove them from the scene (activity on RX/TX lights) when you force quit the app? I do think that we will have to eventually move away from Java. This said, Admin Console was never designed as nice user interface. It was designed for Administration. In any case, with the advent of persistent web sockets, we might not have to use Java for real time updates and thus relieving us from one of the major obstacles for moving away from Java. With kind regards, Michel

With kind regards, Michel I would say it was not actively trying to remove clients when it froze. The activity lights were not blinking. Plus, I let it sit for quite a while. When I removed devices 1 by 1 it was a very fast process. What is the best way to erase every node and globally reconfigure all nodes? When the applet froze I believe it caused my remotelinc to be out of sync. The ISY is out of sync with the remote. Everything else seems fine.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Hi robinasu, Thank you. I do not think it's a good idea to factory reset and start from Scratch. If your RL is out of synch with ISY, then all you have to do is Right Mouse Click | Restore Device. In case you want to factory reset: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ur_ISY-99i With kind regards, Michel
