I'm a newbie when it comes to ISY99. i been around industrial automation for over 20 years.

My question is why does my X10 motion sensor so ON under my devices

Also I linked two keys on a remotelink 2440 ant it show them On to.

any ideas. :?:

The RemoteLinc nodes reflect the last command received from the respective button. If On is the last button press that is what will be shown. Likely the same with the X10 motion sensor but I have no X10 motion sensors

I use some x-10 motion sensors. Mine can be set up to send only ON commands, I recall. If set up in this way, LeeG's explanation is consistent with my understanding. The ISY status reflects latest command recieved.

Thanks for the response I plan on doing away with all X10 I'm 2/3 away. I have and Insteon motion sensor ordered. I'm sure there will be more questions. I cant rely on Rand for every question even though he is so willing to answer. :P

Keep in mind that insteon motion sensors can be configured, just like those that are x-10. When an insteon motion sensor is configured to send only ON commands, the ISY will show a motion sensor as ON. I am not sure that insteon motion sensors will behave any differently.

The question I have is why do you percieve the "status" of a motion sensor to be important? Are you trying to get a sense of how recently motion has been sensed?

For me, I have simply accepted the fact that "status" has no meaning for certain devices, including motion sensors, remote controls, and IOLinc relays.
