eknapp Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I cant complete basic install of Mobilinc module in ISY994i . Error message regarding TCP client DNS error. It sometimes also occurs on the address pool.ntp.org but not consistenly when I run the update modules from the ADMIN console Help. Purchased the Mobilinc 5 day app; cant get it to install in ISY. I have remote access working via the mobile browser so I get to home page. I have tested remote devices via this method. Looking for simpler app for Android on Galaxy 3 . Java on PC is up to date. I am using a hard IP address/port off a Linksys BSR41 router with port forwarding for the ISY remote config. On the ISY the Gateway and DNS addresses are given by router status and entered into the ISY config. Do I have to go back to the default DHCP and Port 80 to download modules such as Mobilinc?
InsteonNut Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Hi eknapp, Based on the description of errors with the pool time server and the homeorchestrator domain, it sounds like whatever IP Address is entered for the DNS IP in the ISY's config page that DNS IP isn't responding to ISY's requests for domain name lookup requests. Some ISPs won't respond to a DNS request if it's coming direct from an internal network device (if it's not going through the gateway device). Please try replacing the ISY's DNS IP address with Google's OpenDNS IP address: 8.8.4.4 and reboot the ISY. Verify your pool time server is refreshing ok and then try the module purchase process again. If you are still having problems please post back as we'll have to get the UDI folks to chime in for support. Wes
eknapp Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 I was able to get this module to download into the ISY but only when reconfigured it to DHCP and port 80 from my fixed IP. I ddid get the mobilinc app to control a device. However, since I dont want to be dependent on the Mobilinc service connection I changed it back to my fixed IP and port forwarding configuration. The ISY crashed upon reboot. I cant recover even from factory reboot.
InsteonNut Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Ed, Since this sub-forum is really intended for MobiLinc app support for your iOS or Android device, I really recommend that you contact UDI support directly for any ISY issues as there's no guarantee they read or respond to ISY issues in this sub-forum. Wes
Michel Kohanim Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Hello eknapp, I do not think ISY has crashed from reboot. Please do be kind enough to send the following to support@universal-devices.com: 1. Reboot ISY and the pattern of lights on the front of the unit 2. Your ISY's model number and firmware version 3. Whether or not you have a good backup With kind regards, Michel
