Alpha Sort Option in Device / Scene tree views

I'd like to request the option of being able to enable alpha sort on the device / scene names in the ISY. It's a pain trying to figure out which devices potentially failed adding (due to sporativ comm errors) and having to add them in manually. This should be a user option as there may be others who have named their devices differently.

 

ALSO.. A cool feature would be the ability to group devices in folders. So a kitchen folder would contain all my Kitchen insteon devices, etc.. This would be helpful when building scenes. Simply draf a group into a scene. Similar to the folders capability when defining and categorizing programs.

There's a button with a/z on it which allows you to sort devices/scenes in an alphabetical order. Are you saying that there should be a different sort option? If so, would you elaborate please?

 

Grouping is a very important feature especially with the introduction of touchscreens. As such, we are weighing our options as far as how this grouping should take place. Currently, you can group devices in the Floor Plan tool but we are planning to remove it.

The A..Z button does the trick, but I noticed that it has to manually pressed to sort the list in the tree view. It would be nice to have a user option that would be set in the config tab and the tree refresh routine would always refresh as per sorting preferences. Possible user selectable values could be:

 

Ascending Sort a..z

Decending Sort z..a

No Sort

That sounds like a good idea. I click the sort button many times while I am working on my devices names. Dynamic sorting would be nicer.

I have added this to our requirements ... although an excellent idea, please note that since there's currently a workaround, this requirement will have a low priority.
