To gain access to the NEST API you have to request it through NEST, and state what you intend to do with it. I have a request in for API access and what I intend to do with it is look in to adding some kind of interface with the ISY. If I get the API access, I plan to implement any functionality that I can, but I have no idea what the API will look like so I can't promise anything. (Not to mention I won't know if I get access for a couple of months yet.)
