gmhayes Posted November 8, 2013 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Hi guys, I've got a six button Keypad Linc. It has worked in the past and for some reason the ISY system can't see it. It works locally as a switch but when I try to delete it and then re-add it I get a message that says "Cannot determine Insteon Engine" I've never seen that message before. Like I said, it was working, it is dual band, and I have another dual band dimmer switch in the same room that does work.... Any suggestions would be great! Xathros Posted November 8, 2013 Share Posted November 8, 2013 It sounds like poor communication between the PLM and the KPL. If you can move the PLM to the same circuit at the KPL for the device add, it may be enough to get it working. You can do that by plugging the PLM into an extension cord then the extension cord into an outlet on the same circuit as the KPL. The device add requires extended commands which are more difficult to accomplish with marginal comms. You might want to look for electronic devices on either the KPL or PLM circuits that may be causing interference. Hopefully that will be enough to get it working since there will be another node in the same room. If not then I'll try your suggestion. Thanks!
