I use the Blue Iris software for IP Camera Video Surveillance. Blue Iris has different profiles. I would like to change the profiles based on whether or not anyone is home. They have a some commands that I will use to build a script to change the Blue Iris profile via a script.(http://www.cam-it.org/index.php?topic=2687.msg10929#msg10929)

I would like to figure out how I can execute the script on the Windows box via the ISY. Any suggestions?

I do have the networking module.

I don't really have any experience myself with Eventghost. But from what I have read I believe you can control eventghost via network resources commands so u don't need to use an IR blaster to get the ISY & Eventghost to communicate. Do a search on the forum for eventghost & you will come up with a couple of posts on this.

The easiest way would be to run Apache (web server) on the PC. Then you could just cause things to happen via making a call to a url on the PC.

I do this using a laptop running UBUNTU. Depending on the URL I ask for, I can do anything from make a voice announcement throughout the house, to display a graph of temp and thermostat data.

This, in conjunction with the ISY REST interface and Network resources is extremely powerful. It will be even more so if / when Michael adds variables to network resources, and feedback.

I was originally going to go the Apache way. However, my web programming is pretty limited and I didn't know how to call batch files via web pages.

The Eventghost way is working perfectly! I just got it setup and running last night. I am very happy with it. The isyplugin that someone wrote works great.

I used the ISY plugin quite a while ago but ended up removing it, I forget why. But now I just use the web server plugin on eventghost and I generate events by calling on the eventghost webserver from ISY network resources. If I need eventghost to communicate to the ISY I use eventghost to run cURL and send commands to the REST interface on the ISY. Anyway, I'm a big fan of eventghost, it really ends up filling any gaps in automation that seem to come up from time to time.
