benpeart Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I'm trying to use the code from the "How To" for "Using a Program to adjust On level/Ramp Rates for a Scene" found here http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?p=10667#p10667 In my case, I have a scene that contains an 8 key keypad with the master light on button 1 (the dimmer) linked with another switch by the door. I have another scene for the bathroom light that only contains 1 switch. The code sets the on level and ramp rate for everything in the scene as well as on the controls themselves (see below). When I test it using "run then" and then check the on level and ramp rates - everything is correct (25% and 4.5) on the individual switches, the scene, and the switches in the scene. The only problem is, it doesn't work. In particular, the ramp rate for the switch by the door keeps it's 4.5 second ramp rate even though it says it is set to .5 seconds. In addition, the ramp rate on the bathroom light also stays at 4.5 seconds even though it says .5 seconds. Any ideas why this isn't working correctly? Michel Kohanim Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hi benpeart, If these are older devices, you might need to an airgap (take the set button out and then push it back in) to the switch for the settings to take effect. In which case, it would not make sense to use programs due to the manual nature of these devices. What's the model#/firmware version of these devices? With kind regards, Michel
benpeart Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 The three switches involved are: Master - Light (Load): (2334-2) KeypadLinc Dimmer 8 buttons v.43 Master light by door: (2477DH) Dual Band SwitchLinc Dimmer v.41 Master Bath light: (2477DH) Dual Band SwitchLinc Dimmer v.41
Xathros Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 That is a whole lot of traffic all at once. Try adding a "Wait 1 second" between each command. I was running into devices that would not change and adding the waits fixed it for me. I suspect devices that require retries or extra hops to be reached via RF may step on commands to other devices. -Xathros
franklyn7895 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'm having the same problem in my Master Bathroom as well, any suggestions on how to go about programming the actual switch through "Program"? Also, if I use the 'adjust scene,' my Switchlinc is not present in the list, even though is it v.41, dual band, dimmer switch.
LeeG Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The SwitchLinc has to be a Controller of a Scene for it to be available for the 'In Scene' parameter of an Adjust Scene statement.
