There is no selection for automatic writes to document 4.1.0

I went to make sure the that updates were not automatic. Looking at the latest user guide I could find, it shows and entry in the list when you select file. That entry is not there. It is the only one missing from the picture in the guide.

Can someone please tell me what to do to find it?

I upgraded my ISY99 Pro through you to an new version. It should have been a Pro. And it says IR-Pro on the bottom of the case (which is indeed what I had before the new box).

Perhaps my UI does not realize what the box really is.

It is hard to see in the little hole, but it looks like there is a little silver dot in there.

I am afraid I may have been sloppy in my first post. My current and previous models are identically featured.

@Michel-

I believe the original question was: Where did "Enable Automatic Writes to Devices" go in 4.1.0. For me, it shows as always in the File menu:

@Harold: Not sure why it would be missing from yours.

Me neither Xathros. It used to be there with the old ISY. Maybe something I have done.

I have the line for the battery powered devices; but not the other.

Harold,

Is there likewise a button at the top of the admin console for battery powered devices but not for regular devices?

Does Help>About report both the GUI and ISY are 4.1.0? And the only other question I can think of to ask is what virus software are you using?

Both firmware and ui are the same version.

My system shows precisely what Xathros has posted EXCEPT for

A line for automatic writes to devices.

Something else I noticed - in the line for Automatic writes to battery operated devices, the little icon on the left is grayed out.

I just realized what Xathros was saying about the top line. The one with the little tool icons on it across the top of the admin console. Same problem there. No regular devices writes shown as a choice and the battery powered choice is shown, but it is also grayed out.

There is also no entry on the top bar for Z-Wave. But that does not surprise me since I have no Z-Wave hardware installed.

Michel - Xathros is not reporting that he has a problem. He just posted the picture of the results on clicking File as an example of what my system should look like and suggested some more questions for my problem.

Mine still show on the little tools buttons near the top of the Administrative Console and in the Files drop down menu.

Firmware 4.1.1 and UI 4.1.1.

It was the same when I was on 4.1.1.

My OS is Windows not sure if it is of any relevance.

Grayed Out indicates Automatic Writes are disabled.

Hi Xathros,

I am not sure I follow. They are there without the "Enable", no?

With kind regards,

Michel

Yes, mine are, Harold however, seems to be missing the entry for Non-Battery powered devices.

I'm having issues with this also and have a IR/PRO with v4.0.5. The option to not do automatic writes does not show up under File when I run the Admin Console from the ISY's web portal.

However, if I download the console from the UDI support page (v4.0.11) and launch the Admin Console locally on my PC the option is available.

Doesn't tell you why it's happening or a permanent solution but perhaps a usable work around until then.

We are looking into it. The same two items are available as buttons in your toolbar.

I was wrong about this. It's not a factor of loading the console from portal vs local or even the version of the UI. Sometimes the options are there when I launch and sometimes not. Sometimes I only have the disable updates option for battery. It varies as I open and close the console repeatedly and I haven't detected a pattern.

The toolbar buttons are also gone when the File menu options are not available. Same for when I have the "battery only" option.

My JRE is 1.7.0_40.

There is a later Java available. Has been for some time. Suggest moving to latest Java. Be sure to close all browser sessions and clear Java cache.

For sometime? A whole two months?

I hate Java. It's slow, a resource hog, and the version conflicts with various apps gets tricky. I gotta say I wasn't happy to discover ISY used a Java applet for configuration.

I'll update and see if that helps. Hopefully none of my other apps are too picky.

I updated to 1.7.0_b45 and the same behavior is exhibited. Sometimes the automatic write options are available and sometimes not.

Sorry about the time reference. For Java a few months is a long time.

The browsers were closed and the Java cache cleared after installing the latest Java?
