ISY994i / Insteon Motion Detection / IP Camera Screen Shot

I am thinking about getting an ISY994i but I want to do the following

1. Activate an Insteon motion sensor via an iPhone app. (For example, we jump in bed press a button and now the motion detector is armed).

2. If motion is detected (front port) turn on the lights for 5 minutes and send an http command to grab a jpg from our IP camera.

3. Email me copy of the screenshot from the camera.

Will the ISY994i do this?

Depends on the camera. If you can tell the cam to email a picture from it's web interface then quite likely you can have the ISY issue that command when motion is detected. ISY does not access image data from cameras at all so the cam would need to be capable of handling the send image transaction.

So the ISY994i cannot go out and grab a jpg via an html link and do something with it?

For example, something like cameraip/image/snapshot.jpg

No. That is outside the realm of what the ISY is designed to do. I use a few Foscam and Trendnet IP cams and am doing something similar to what you want. I could have the cam email me a pic on demand but instead, my detection routines in the ISY command the cameras upload images via FTP to an onsite server which in turn copies the images to an offsite location while simultaneously pushing a notification to my iPhone which contains a link to the live camera feed. This gives me access to the live feed and an archive of snapshots from the triggered times with an offsite backup copy.

Xathros,

Do you happen to have the URL handy for a Foscam to do this? I have a bunch of those around that I've been meaning to add this functionality to.

Thanks!
