Error Log: Frequent -80008 errors

Hi,

 

I have the ISY994 purchased new about 4 months ago running firmware 4.0.5. I have an ApplianceLinc (2634-222 v.42) outside for my landscape lights that doesn't seem to turn on reliably. It's on a program to turn on at sunset along with the front landscape lights on another AL. The front one works great. Only the back yard AL seems to miss several days a week.

 

I decided to look at the error log and found that it shows frequent -80008 errors every day. For example, this is just part of the error log from one day (this type of thing repeats every day):

I read that the -80008 is NO RESPONSE FROM GATEWAY. I have the ISY connected to my router, but I don't understand what it is doing that often with the internet connection that would cause these errors. I do not have Internet Access enabled on the ISY (it actually fails whenever I try to enable it anyway).

 

Any idea what might cause the backyard AL to act unreliably? It's brand new (within a few months) -- purchased at the same time as the front yard AL. I have a hardwired phase coupler and two access points in the house as well as a half dozen dual band devices on different phases of the electrical service.

 

Also, what is causing these -80008 errors and should I be concerned about them?

Hi Vinnie,

 

Unfortunately the problem with your INSTEON switch is noise related and I suspect it's related to low voltage lighting/transformers.

 

As far as 80000, at one point you issued File | Enable Internet Access. Now, you will need to do File | Disable Internet Access. And, I am sure this fails because your router does not support UPnP configuration. So, you would need to:

1. Telnet to ISY

2. Login

3. At the prompt type the following and then hit Enter:

DI

 

D is for Disable.

I is for Internet Access.
