Jay M Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I just bought a 994 ir pro to replace my 99ir Everything in my house works well enough, but not quite perfect. For example, the LEDs on the keypads don't reflect the actual status of the device they are controlling. The LEDs on some dimmers don't reflect the brightness of the lamp. In short, there are some programming errors. I have 40 to 50 devices. Should I start from scratch, or try to import old programming from the 99ir? I have an old firmware that needs to updated, and I have not been able to successfully do that. What do you suggest? Thanks, ~Jay
Michel Kohanim Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Jay, Please do NOT start from scratch. The first question is whether or not you get status feedback for any of your devices on the admin console. Say, you turn on/off a device, does the admin console reflect the status? If not, then we will have to worry about the PLM having lost its links. Again, we'd be delighted to help through our tech support line (links below). With kind regards, Michel
Jay M Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks Michel, Yes, I do get status from working devices. A few devices don't work anymore, but the ones that do, will show status. One thing I can't seem to do successfully is update the ISY99 firmware. I tried to do a long time ago, and now just two days ago. The laptop is wireless, but the network connection is really solid. Is there a better way to update the firmware than using the admin panel? If I'm not mistaken, I can't import the old 2.xx whatever backup into the new ISY994. Is that correct? Thanks for you help! ~Jay
LeeG Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 What error is being seen when loading a new image? Remember the ISY requires the ISY image be the original ZIP format. It should not be unzipped including being unzipped by the OS as Mac often does.
Jay M Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 I don't remember the steps exactly, but I think I just used a dropdown menu that is supposed to update the firmware. When I started that process it asked me to back up the current program, and that was successful. Then when I tried to update the firmware the admin console just froze. Two years ago I had a similar problem. This week I was using my Macbook, but two years ago I don't remember if I used my Windows desktop or the Macbook. I do remember that a some point in time over a year ago, I could not get my Windows desktop to connect to the ISY99. I'll try the desktop again tonight. ~Jay
