danncas Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Lights not returning to full on after certain scenes. I have a scene for my ding room light and kitchen light that to both at 50 percent. When button on keypad pressed the scene comes on. Pressed again it goes out. BUT when the main switch for the dining room light is press it doesn't come on full. And if the kitchen light switch is pressed it doesn't come on full. Both or set to come on locally at 100 percent. IDEAS????
shannong Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Were the switches in question added to the scene as Controllers or Responders?
shannong Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Since the switches are controllers in the scene when you turn them on the scene is being activated and thus using the dimming level of that scene. The switches would need to be Responders only in the scene. Thus, only the keypad button would activate the dimmer scene for both lights.
shannong Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 If you want to leave them in as Controllers, the dimming level can be set for each node within the Scene by clicking on it. The top level scene settings are for when ISY activates the scene. When you select each controller, it allows the setting of on levels for when each individual controller is turning on to activate the scene.
danncas Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 The keypad Button b is the only controller for the pm scene. The nain switch fir the kitchen light is the controller for it locally. And keypad button A is the main swirchbof the dining room light and that is the controller for it. Only. Button B controls the Pm scene
oberkc Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The only reason, besides device malfunction, that I understand would case a switch to come on at certain levels are the local settings for that switch. If you are confident you have the programmed appropriate, I would consider cycling the power to the switches. I recall that, for some settings, older versions of switches require a power cycle for the settings to take hold. Alternatively, check that you don't have any funny green or red symbols next to any of these devices indicating a need to write to these devices.
LeeG Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The local control devices can be set to come on at the defined Local On Level OR come on at the last On Level (Resume Bright). Check the User Guide for each device to see how to set each device to come on to the defined Local On Level. Once set to come on at the defined Local On Level the values set by the ISY for On Level (applied locally) should be used.
danncas Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 It was working correctly for a long time. i will reset the swichlink and the keylink to defaults. Locally they are both set to on on at 100 percent
LeeG Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Unfortunately it does not matter what the Local On Level is set to if running Resume Bright.
danncas Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I'm not sure why they would remember last state. My isy is set for 100 percent
LeeG Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Read the User Guide for the specific device in the area that discusses Local On Level. It describes the two modes the device can operate in. Assuming you have the device Local On Level defined correctly the device ignores that definition when operating in Resume Bright mode. This mode is described in the device User Guide under Local On Level.
