Bad ISY 99I or bad PLM ?

Administrative Console reports that it is running in safe mode - This means that it can't find the PLM.

Tools/Disagnostics/PLM Info/status reports : Autorisation failed

Anything to do with PLM does not work - Devices update are also pending.

So I decided to order a new PLM 2413S.

Same results - Can't find PLM (Also tried new 3' network cable).

Tried Factory Reset - Same result.

Could this be the ISY99I is defective instead of the PLM ?

How can I diagnose this ? Any test tool ? Telnet something ?

Thank's

When you replaced the PLM. Did you power down the old PLM and ISY99i?

The detection of PLM is done when the ISY99i powers up. If it was not power cycled it will not see the new PLM.

From what I have seen here.

Power down both the PLM and ISY99ii

Replace the PLM and power it up first so it is completely initialized.

Then Power up the ISY99i.

Then use the Restore Modem (PLM) choice in the files menu. To add the new PLMs ID to all the modules in the system,.

If your old PLM was a 2412S supplying power to the ISY99i. The new 2413S will not supply the power and you have to use an external power supply.

All of these solutions where tested, over and over.

Hard reset of the old and NEW PLM.

Network cables was change.

External power source is use with the new PLM (2413S)

Tested with different computer, with different windows.

The ISY99i was working OK and then started going into Safe Mode?

You may want to contact UDI Support directly.

They are excellent and will even schedule an appointment to troubleshoot your PLM and ISY994i for problems remotely if need.

If you have not found the UDI wiki it is just full of useful information. Like a full users manual and troubleshooting information.

Brian H, thanks so very much for the links.

riojp02, if you are still having problems, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support (links below). Statistically speaking, it's extremely rare that ISY would develop a serial port defect unless you had a 2412S and a power surge.

With kind regards,

Michel
