Question on adjusting thermostat with remote

Hi,

I'm wondering if there's a way to query my venstar thermostat for it's current setpoint temperature, and automatically set it to a certain number of degrees lower, using an insteon remote. I find myself sometimes being overheated at night and it would be nice to be able to press one button and know the heat will turn off, but not be disabled completely (otherwise I end up being too cold later).

Does this make sense?

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Hi Frank,

You can put the thermostat inside a scene as a responder and your remote control as a controller. Then, you can assign set points for the remote control button.

Or, you can have programs that when you press a button, set point is incremented or decremented:

If
Control 'RemoteLinc A' is switched on
Then
  Set 'Thermostat' decrement 1

With kind regards,

Michel
