Teken Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I would like to see the Autelis Bridge have the ability to send the temperature / humidity data to Smart Energy Groups (SEG). After speaking to Ben at Brultech he indicates the following: All it is is an HTTP PUT request to http://api.smartenergygroups.com/api_sites/stream that looks like:(site <site token - user defined> (node <node-id, either user defined or auto generated> (temperature_8 0)(temperature_7 0)(temperature_6 23)(temperature_5 0)(temperature_4 0)(temperature_3 0)(temperature_2 23)(temperature_1 23.5))) When can we expect the Autelis Bridge firmware to be upgraded to support such a feature? As development & upgrades thus far has pretty much stopped for your product. If UDI could add such a feature to the ISY perhaps this would move faster in the long run?
sloop Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 time to move this forum to the 'archive' section
Teken Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 time to move this forum to the 'archive' section The lack of interaction, feedback, and development support in the current Autelis Bridge is very surprising to say the least. I have engaged the vendor on several fronts about upgrading the firmware to take advantage of many services and products. But, have been told many times these feature requests would be pending some future time?? I also engaged the vendor in his own forum and was told if I purchased five more units he would consider developing some of the feature requests for me WTF?? My reply back was development of a product helps grow the device and adoption of said product. When your product has features others don't, people will buy it. Because it has value . . . When I see a small time vendor resistent on developing his product it has to make me pause and wonder, is this a past time, part time job, or some hobby? Regardless, my future plans to deploy 30 more of these devices will have to wait until I either find another vendor who is more willing to develop and grow their product or use what I have now.
sloop Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 i saw your posts on their forum. i was interested in using their device to control lutron blinds but i don't get an answer to my e/mails. hope everything is ok in the developer's life. good luck, teken. keep pushing for more functions in home automation. it helps followers like me when you are successful.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hey sloop! Where have you been? Welcome back even if it's just for a short time. With kind regards, Michel
sloop Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 michel! while visiting my mom, i noticed she never used a spotlight over her favorite chair. light switch was on the wall. so i said 'i can fix that' and put a pedestal and dimmer from my stash. then added a control for the lamp. then did the entire room. then, then, then... got a 944. can't do insteon without one. now all her lights are done. and thermostats. mobilinc for android....sigh. sucked back in. eventually gonna put in an elk. that would be a fun project but having someone wire the window and door sensors. the next addition is the window treatments. started looking at lutron but lutron does not like foolz like me that want to do it themselves. might have to go somfy. just starting my research. mostly blinds but a few drapes too. i do have one question (unrelated, sorry teken). she owns an authorized generac dealer. obviously, she should have one. about 30kw. do you know if the power output from them plays nice with insteon or will i need some kinda power conditioner? slooplinc
Michel Kohanim Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi sloop, That's great! Unfortunately I do not know anything about that device. This said, if there were issues you would have surely found them discussed either here or at SmartHome forum. With kind regards, Michel
Xathros Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Someone here recently stated that their Insteon worked fine while on generator power. I suspect a large unit like that with good line frequency control would be just fine. Not like trying to run on a square wave inverter. -Xathros
Brian H Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I had a power failure a few weeks ago and was running selected loads on a 6KW generator. It is not a pure sine wave and may not have been exactly at 60 cycles. The few Insteon devices that where powered up did not work as I kind of expected.
Teken Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Generac indicates the 14 KWH and above offer true sine wave output. A few members who have 17-21 KWH generators indicate no issues with Insteon when running on back up power. I believe its prudent that some parts of the home be wired with out any fancy electronics such as Insteon. When the power goes out do you really want to **** around with a simple light switch?? It should just turn on that's it!
sloop Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 thanks all. from what i understand, other people with powerline devices have no problem with generac. but - generac stops short of saying that. kinda nervous about the disappearance of autelis and since no one has played with blinds...ima go throw a guilt trip on michel and peeve the z/wave guys with a single post.
stusviews Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 kinda nervous about the disappearance of autelis and since no one has played with blinds...ima go throw a guilt trip on michel and peeve the z/wave guys with a single post. Autelis does have Lutron controllers.
sloop Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 they do. IF you can find them. but they have never tested any of their stuff with blinds (added tilt function other window coverings do not have). lutron does not cater to the dyi kinda riff raff. authorized dealers and installers only. and the price...
stusviews Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I'm using an Autelis Somfy RTS controller to open, close and tilt verticals that use a Somfy Universal Receiver RTS, Part No.: 1810627 to control a non-Somfy motor that includes open, close, tilt, and stop, but no presets. Sending TCP commands, I can have any number of presets including having the slats convex side in, concave side in or even half-way (e.g. perpendicular to the wall). I use a 4-button Mini Remote to open, close, tilt, stop and adjust to any of four presets including which way I want the slats to face. In addition to the Autelis controller, a network module and Somfy Universal RTS Interface II, Part Number: 1810872 is required. The Autelis Lutron controller appears to offer the same options.
sloop Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 sv! let's take this to another thread before teken heads to texas to kick my butt for trashing out his thread... http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/14085-aight-lets-skip-the-somfyzwave-thing-and-go-insteon-to-sdn/
