windrockwater Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I have a new mini-remote for the coffee table. I created a new scene and added a lamplinc to the scene and a switchlinc dimmer to the scene. Then I changed my mind and want to remove the switchlinc from the scene. No matter what I do the switchlinc keeps responding to the miniremote button press! So far i have tried unlinking the dimmer from the remote (as per the remote manual), factory resetting the dimmer, power cycling the dimmer and recreating the scene. Am i missing something else to do here? Thanks for any advice.
oberkc Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 A couple of things come to mind. Hopefully, one or more can trigger a thought, question, or course of action A) all scenes should be created, modified, and deleted via the ISY-994. Unlinking via the methods in the "remote manual" (or any other device manual) are generally applicable only when one does not have an ISY-994. make sure you dont have any little red or green symbols next to any devices in you admin panel. Remember, writing changes to battery devices, one must put them into linking, or listening, mode. C) mae sure you dont have any residual x-10 addresses floating around here. If all else fails, remove all devices from the isy and factory reset all. Re-add them. Recreate the scenes. You don't have too many devices affected here that this would be onerous.
stusviews Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 List the steps you are using to un-link the dimmer from the remote and the result of each step.
windrockwater Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 To make things crazy. The OFF button on the mini remote turns the light ON. And the ON button turns it on too. Also it could be a stray X10 programming. But why would a new mini remote send X10? Even if I unplug the x10 receiver the light still responds to the mini remote button. Very strange.
windrockwater Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 Well after another factory reset and redoing the scene from scratch in the ISY, all seems okay. Thanks guys.
