Grizzy Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Allow x10 devices to be used in scenes. Granted x10 is past history and insteon is what this is designed for, I just hope the design folks remember there are many, many of us that are just starting the migration to insteon. The migration can be very expensive such that I (we) have to it in small pieces as we can afford the expensive insteon hardware. X10 past history ?? maybe or maybe not, x10 is still in production and trying to come back. Either way there is tons of hardware available at a fraction the cost of the insteon. My complements on UD for developing the add on x10 module. It says experimental? I sure hope you continue its development as I believe many of us will use the x10 and insteon hardware mix. The only reason I purchased ISY was because it would allow me to use my x10 hardware. Thanks for your excellent support , You do have the market sewed up on that !!!! Don
Michel Kohanim Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Hi Don, We did try supporting X10 in scenes alas due to the variety of X10 devices, some with extended X10 support, some without, and most without the ability to figure out what they supported, it because a daunting task and the outcome was a mish-mash of things that sometimes worked and didn't work at other times. That's why we just left them in programs so that they can be supported based on what the user knows about their own devices. With kind regards, Michel
Grizzy Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Thanks for the information, I realize there is a point at which development time and costs cannot be justified. I'm pleased you gave it your best shot for all us x10 old timers. The x10 functionalty is adaquate and I'm thankful for it. Please keep us x10 folks in mind during your development process. Great job and absolutly outstanding customer support !!!
