pitbull5.0 Posted November 24, 2014 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Hi everybody, I have an ISY 994i/IR PRO set up to send emails to my live.ca account for specific rules. For some reason it stopped working after 2 years of no issuesand Im not sure why my test email also dont work. I get an error message Mail Server Failure, TLS negotiation failed. SMTP sever used is smtp.live.com Port in use is 587. I tried changing this but no sucess tried to do some reading, tryied to change email account but not able to get it to work again. What should I look at. Anybody else have this issue and was it solved? Link to comment

What should I look at. Anybody else have this issue and was it solved? First thing I would do is verify your email account and log in and see if the user name / password is the same. Next I would ping the address stated above from your LAN and reply back what the results are. Next I would confirm that the ISY is not being blocked by any firewall / anti virus software. Verify that all required ports are open for the above. Lastly, create a dedicated gmail account for the ISY and report back success / failure. Michel Kohanim Posted November 24, 2014 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Hello pitbull5.0, Please upgrade to 4.2.18 especially if your mail server uses TLS. This is because most services have stopped supporting SSL and moved to TLS1.0. With kind regards,Michel Link to comment
