jerlands Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Seems I've read something, maybe just a suggestion, about UDI working on a PLM... Any truth in this or just wishful thinking? Jon...
LeeG Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 UDI is working on a PLM, estimated to be available in 1st Qtr 2015.
Teken Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Speaking of which no one has indicated what the price is for the PLM. I am also wondering how long the warranty is for this unit. Since purchasing the PLM from Smarthome offers a 2 year warranty. I would expect it to be the same or even longer given the fact new capacitors have been introduced to avoid the early two year failures seen by many. Expectations is that the new units with hardware v2.X and the new firmware to negate the *ALL ON* issue will last well past the two year mark.
jerlands Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 UDI is working on a PLM, estimated to be available in 1st Qtr 2015. This is great news considering all the issues I've heard with Smarthome's... I purchased a 2412s years ago and its worked well but I'm planning for the inevitable:)

Do a search and you will be able to extend that PLM at least 2-5 years more.
Michel Kohanim Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Hello everyone, we are testing the 5 we manufactured! With kind regards, Michel

Good Info! Still.. I'd like to have the PLM dual-band now..

Michel Kohanim Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Hi thurster999, Unfortunately not. So very sorry. With kind regards, Michel
ISYhbsh01 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Hi thurster999, Unfortunately not. So very sorry. With kind regards, Michel Michel, Please clarify, to which part of the question did you answer "unfortunately not"? Was it to the "anything new" or to the "are we going to get a UDI PLM" question?
Michel Kohanim Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Hi hbsh01, We did design and manufacture 5 of these units and they work beautifully. Currently, the only hold up is a decision from SmartLabs with regards to selling us the INSTEON chips. So, the answer is: - No, nothing new - Getting UDI PLM depends on us getting INSTEON chips from SmartLabs With kind regards, Michel
mpalazzola Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 When the PLM fails, why must everything disconnect? i.e. half my system is zwave, why must it go into safe mode, with no zwave connections too? Mike
Teken Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 When the PLM fails, why must everything disconnect? i.e. half my system is zwave, why must it go into safe mode, with no zwave connections too? Mike Hello Mike, My understanding is if you had a stand alone Z-Wave environment there are several pieces of firmware that would allow you to use the ISY with out the PLM. Unfortunately, I don't believe UDI has implemented a hybrid firmware where it can detect a fault in the PLM and still allow those who have Z-Wave to still operate. Perhaps this sort of idea will be reviewed and worked on in the future . . .
Michel Kohanim Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Hi Mike, Please use the firmware that is clearly marked for those who do not have PLMs: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/16161-release-433-rc2-is-now-available/ ISY 994i Z & ZS Series (Zigbee and/or if you do NOT have a PLM) With kind regards, Michel

I believe this is what Mike had indicated but could be wrong.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hi Teken, Correct. With kind regards, Michel
Michel Kohanim Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hello everyone, Not an update on UDI PLM but a noteworthy development nonetheless: 2413S with Revision 1.C has updated C7 and C13 capacitors ! With kind regards, Michel
Brian H Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Michel, Thank you for the hardware version where the later caps where included. I had thought it was 2.? but that may have been where they updated the firmware. For a possible fix for the All On Syndrome. Edited July 9, 2015 by Brian H
Michel Kohanim Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi BrianH, Have you seen 2.0 yet? With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi BrianH, Have you seen 2.0 yet? With kind regards, Michel Last year Smartlabs released a hardware revision v.2.0 which was stated to have addressed the early failures by replacing the affected capacitors. Perhaps this hardware revison 1C includes the new ALL ON / ALL OFF firmware update which was Beta tested in the HUB PLM by a few Insteon users?
Brian H Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) The 2413S I am using with my ISY994i. Is a Hardware 2.1 with 9E Firmware. It is not one of those vaguely referenced. Older 2242-222 HUBs. With the network PCB replaced by a Serial Daughter Board from a 2413S. My older Hardware 1.B Firmware 9B still has the original C7 and C13 capacitors. Edited July 10, 2015 by Brian H
Michel Kohanim Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi Brian, Thank you. So, 1.C should be the hardware revision for 2413S. With kind regards, Michel
Brian H Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I see Lee Fleishman. On page one of the PLM repair thread. Reported opening a brand new hardware 1.C and it had the new C7 and C13. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/13866-repair-of-2413s-plm-when-the-power-supply-fails/
Michel Kohanim Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hi BrianH, got it, thank you. This is exciting! With kind regards, Michel
