Homeseer Z-wave plug in motion detector

I just received one today, and will be testing it in the next few days.  I sure hope that it works with all the color notifications.

It states that the Z-Wave software should be compliant to the Z-Wave Color Command Class.  Not sure if the ISY has this functionality built in to their software or not.  If not, I hope that they can consider adding it.  I could see a lot of functionality from all the different color combination for notification.

I will surely test it soon and will report back.  For me I like that it acts as a Z-Wave repeater.  I will have mine close to my Z-Wave locks

By the way, homeseer has it on sale now as one of their Doorbuster sale.

I would like to get a bunch of these if the work. The thought of not worrying about batteries is appealing.

Hi bernieb,

Unfortunately we do not currently support the Color command class, but we intend to support it in the future.  You should still be able to control the light on/off/brightness, but you won't be able to adjust the color.

Thanks Chris,

So far, not much luck out of the box.  I was hoping that the motion sensor would work at least, but was not able to make it change state although the dome on the unit seems to blink when I walk by.  Not sure if there was something else for me to do for setup.  I am trying to remember where I saw a post on how to setup 3rd party motion detectors.

So far, the only thing that seems to be working (somewhat) is the luminosity and temperature, although the temp is being displayed in celsius.

There didn't seem to be a way for me to control the light as well.

Looking forward to see the Color Command Class, but I know that you guys are busy with a ton of other work,  this will be a nice unit when it I can get all the features going.

Not knowing whether a Z-Wave device will work with ISY or not is really a pain. Does anyone know if there is a supported device list anywhere?

With hundreds of manufacturers making thousands of z-wave devices, making a list is virtually impossible. At this juncture, the ISY994Zw should support all certified devices that are not multichannel. We can't possibly test every one, so we ask for some help here. If you acquire a device that doesn't work as expected let us know and we'll look into it. The z-wave alliance releases updates 2-3 times a month, making it difficult to keep up on all the changes - except for those driven by customer demands.

Thanks Mike,

I am sure that there are tons of different Z-Wave devices out in the market, and I am sure that it's hard to keep track of them all.

If I may, I would like to put forward this Homeseer device for your consideration.  It has a lot of functionality and possibilities for an all in one device.  In addition it acts as a repeater and will surely help as mine sits a few feet from my Z-Wave lock.  Should I include this enhancement request somewhere else for tracking purposes?

Hi raymondh,

Z-WAVE enhancements is currently our only focus (to be included in 5.0). And highest priority is support for multi channel and additional command classes.

With kind regards,

Michel
