smokegrub Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 When I attempt to search on more than one word I get a message that there appears to be a problem with the database.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Hi smokegrub, Please try again. With kind regards, Michel
smokegrub Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Tried it this morning and now it does not work at all. I simply get the message that it is not found.
LeeG Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I found "head around" and "fuzzy math" just now. What is the search argument and what is being searched?
smokegrub Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) I just tried "camera" and "door sensors" (w/o quotation marks) in Forums. No Results Found for either. Edited January 11, 2015 by smokegrub
LeeG Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) I just tried "door sensors" which found several hits including your post. Perhaps the Search is not set to Forums. Edited January 11, 2015 by LeeG
smokegrub Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 It is set on Forums and says Search Function is not Working when I do a search of any kind.
LeeG Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Can you screen capture with the search argument entered but not yet clicked on Green search Icon.
smokegrub Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 I did a screen shot with my Mac and attempted to paste it here. I got the message: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community. Forums is highlighted on the screen shot and the text is door sensors.
Xathros Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) smokegrub- First, try changing your screen cap to a jpg file. Open it in Preview and save as a jpg. Then you can post the jpg. I have changed my default screen cap to jpg as it saves me a step of converting. To do that: You can change the default file type for screen captures by using a terminal command. Every installation of Mac OS X includes the Terminal application in Applications > Utilities. Most major image formats are supported including PNG, PDF, GIF, TIFF, and JPG, we’ll go with JPG since that is a common type of web graphic: defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg Then you must kill the SystemUIServer for changes to take effect: killall SystemUIServer Screen captures will now be saved as JPG files. To change back to PNG, just run through the process again setting 'png' as your type in the first Terminal command. Hope this helps. -Xathros Edited January 12, 2015 by Xathros
smokegrub Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 It inexplicably started working. Go figure!
