larryllix Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Has anybody tried these bulbs? I am not sure where they are in the real world yet. http://www.digitaltrends.com/home/crees-smart-light-bulb-costs-15/ A question has risen in another forum about whether the bulb turns on with power up. The Hue bulbs are reported to do this: 100% white On. Another question I have is would the Hue bridge operate these bulbs if they are both Zigbee?
Brian H Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) You may want to look at the CREE web page for the bulbs. The Documentation tab has four files that can be downloaded. http://creebulb.com/products/standard-a-type/connected-60-watt-replacement-soft-white-led-bulb The page indicates they should be available shortly. So there may not be any users feedback yet. Edited January 18, 2015 by Brian H
larryllix Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Thanks Brian This looks like a clone, or possibly the same bulb rebranded, of the TCP Connect. These have been in Home Depot for about a year now. http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchView?catalogId=10051&storeId=10051&langId=-15&N=0&Ntt=TCP&Nty=1&D=TCP&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&s=true Edited January 19, 2015 by larryllix
Brian H Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I doubt it is a clone. The Cree is their new 4Flow design and they always manufacturer their own products. Notice the air vents on the Cree.
