Cannot communicate with device problem

I've been using my ISY for 3-4 months with no problems at all.

Last night I had to unplug my PLM and when I plugged it back in I got a few cannot communicate with messages. With most of them they sorted themselves out. However one still remained.

The unit in question is working locally; I have tried resetting the unit etc but still have problems. It will see the device but is obviously having problems communicating. If I do a query function the system bar appears a few times and then I get the cannot communicate with device error.

I have read the posts about improving signals etc but this was all working without any issues until I unplugged the PLM. I've tried piggy backing an Access Point just in case but it made no difference.

Could the 2476D unit have gone bad and the timing with unplugging the PLM is just a coincidence? or could there be a problem with the PLM?

Any ideas, anything I can try? My other 40+ devices are working without a hitch.

thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Do you have this problem all the time or only at some hours? I personally suspect the following in the order of likelihood

1. That device is controlling something that is the source of noise

2. That device is next to something noisy

3. That device is defective

To rule out #3, you need to factory reset it. By resetting the unit, did you mean factory reset? You could also put another device in the same location to see if you have the same issues. If not, then you have a defective device.

With kind regards,

Michel
