Multiple KPLs control 1 Scene?

Updating my kitchen Insteon system to replace the 3 existing KPLs with newer Dual-band units.

The original install 7 years ago was done when I only had the original homelinc software and was new to the whole Insteon scene (pun - get it?!)

Well, I created a separate NIGHT scene for each keypad and attempted to "sync" the othe KPL NIGHT scene buttons by including them in the scene as a responder.

I figured there must be a better way to do this today now that I have the ISY 994.

After reading through many threads and the wiki, I must say I am more confused at the moment.

I've seen creating scenes for each KPL button, etc. so I thought I would toss this out to those much smarter than me for suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it seems that the definition of "scene" varies based on controller.

With the ISY, create a single "scene" adding all keypad buttons that you want to trigger the scene as controllers. If there are other devices that actually power the load, but are not to be used as scene controllers, add them to thesceneas a responder.

Each controller in this scene can be configured to drive different responses by the other devices in the scene. Click on each controller and adjust reponder ON levels and ramp rates for each reponder.

Thanks everyone!

I successfully created single themes and then mapped the similar KPL buttons as controllers to that scene.

Once I understood that I needed to copy the scene attributes to each of those controllers, I was finally able to achieve the "status syncing" of the scene buttons on the different KPLs.

Spent the weekend cleaning up all the scenes originally created with Homelinc many years ago. Much easier and nicer on the ISY. (Although I did find the need to upgrade to the PRO option so I could queue up writing all the changes - didn't realize it was now an option when I moved from the 99 to the 994).
