bjhanson3 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I have had my UD and about 80 insteon devices for 6 years. In that time I have seen the reliability increase due to the dual band products, but for the last 12 months or so I have been seeing a decline in reliability of my system. I will go a week or so with no issues and then scenes won't complete and programs won't execute properly. I can't think of any devices or appliances that have been added that could create interference and since the problem is intermittent I can't track in down. Has anyone written a comprehensive guide to track down ghosts in the system? How to test each device or systematically eliminate each one as a source of the issue? By the way sometimes reseting the UD994 helps, but not always.
Techman Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 It's possible that your PLM is failing and/or you may have added some electrical devices in the house which are causing communications issues such as a power cube charger for a laptop, etc.
Xathros Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Does rebooting both the PLM and ISY (in that order) resolve the problems for a while? If so, I have to suspect a failing PLM. If not, then I suspect a noisemaker or signal sucker on your power line is interfering with the comms. -Xathros
