How to periodically check if an insteon device is hung

I have been having issues with one icon appliancelinc. It periodically hangs. The orange LED is extinguished. If I unplug it an replug it, it return to normal operation for maybe 2-3 months. I want to program that will check them all and sends me email if a query is unresponsive. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, a program cannot presently detect/report a communication error. However, that is on our list of requirements, and should be available in a future version.
