G W Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 With all this talk about Christmas and big trees, I'm looking for hardware, lights, ideas and designs to build my own tree. I'm thinking of doing a ground mount instead of free-standing. As my yard is small, I think a 14' tree with a 2' star will do best. I am thinging about using the Mega Tree Hook Head (http://christmaslightshow.com/xcart/pro ... =25&page=1) and the Mega Tree Pulley Head (http://christmaslightshow.com/xcart/pro ... =25&page=1) to start with. This would let me go from 10 to 20 feet high. I am also thinging of burying a 2' pipe in the ground to act as the stand. For the controler, I have ordered a Light-O-Rama CTB16PC (http://store.lightorama.com/ctb16pcpage.html) and software. I thought if we all put in our ideas, we could work together and come up with some great ideas. I guess that most of us find this stuff so much fun, we would like to share with each other. MikeB Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I'm thinking low key. We're set back from the road, so I bought a couple of those large inflatable characters for my front yard. I plan on having some basic lighting and music, but I'm not planning on spending much time on it. But we'll see.

After your Halloween, I figured you would already be putting the lights up, for a huge show.

The idea of spending hours out there right now setting up a light show is not very appealing. I tried to talk my wife into moving out near you, but she just kept muttering something about "family"...
