Group Numbers

Is there any way to see what group number a particular scene belongs to? I was looking at the link tables of some switches last night using Insteon Explorer and noticed duplicate links on almost every device - some of which had different on levels/ramp rates.

While on the subject of viewing and editing link tables - are there any plans to implement an advanced link editor into the ISY Admin console?

Hello jamesx0,

Yes, you can use the ELK Export function (in configuration) to view the group numbers. As far as duplicate groups, please note that you will have duplicate groups if there are different button numbers.

Yes and no: we had plans then we abandoned them simply because manually changing links causes ISY to be out of synch with the configuration. We might revisit if there's an overwhelming reason to do as such.

With kind regards,

Michel

Michael,

The different groups were not from different buttons. In my case, I deleted a scene, but all of the devices that were on a particular circuit did not remove the link. I tried to recreate the scene and then delete it which has worked in the past to remove "phantom" links. When this failed, I used Insteon Explorer to view the link tables and delete the links in question. I, for one, would be very interested in doing this within the ISY programming.

Does the ISY automatically updated any changes to device link tables or are my devices and ISY now out of sync?

jamesx0,

Records starting with 22 are logically deleted. You should NOT delete them since ISY will be out of synch with your devices. As a matter of fact, ISY is now out of synch with your devices. If you want to get rid of the logically deleted links, simply do a Restore Device and ISY will automatically defrag/compact your devices db.

Also, you could have A2 and E2 for the same group number; these are not duplicates.

ISY maintains a replica of device db for each device and uses it for configuration. So, any changes outside of ISY, will not be in Synch with ISY.

With kind regards,

Michel
